Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below The seller indicated that "the vehicle ran good" prior to its purchase Reliance on this representation was important in the purchase decision A previous purchase made from this dealer was also "as is," and was represented verbally to be in acceptable working condition, and it was found to be as it had been represented This experience weighed heavily in the decision to trust Mr [redacted] 's representation about this vehicle. The Jeep had been on the lot for some time, as I saw it frequently when out and about walking my dog, and when I would go to the grocery Apparently, it was not selling My roommate indicated that he had taken it for a test drive prior to asking me to also take a look at it Neither of us are mechanics When the roommate and I were negotiating for possible purchase, the owner said that he really didn't "care whether [we] buy the vehicle or not," as he was planning on "sending it to the auction" that day Based on a measure of trust I had with the seller given the previous purchase, I concluded (wrongly) that the vehicle was difficult to sell because of its age, large size, existing total number of miles driven or for some other reason I had looked at a CarFax report on the vehicle I had bought prior to its purchase, and since there was no record of any major engine-type problems with the vehicle, I felt comfortable with the decision that if the vehicle went to auction, it would not be for major engine defects, as I could not find record of any.Nonetheless, it has been a terrible decision to have made a purchase decision from this vendor, and leads to the inevitable (yet understandable) question by this purchaser as to whether or not the seller knew more about this vehicle's likelihood of breaking down (beyond the >160,miles on the odometer) than what he is representing The dealer's mechanic (to whom the vehicle was taken for repairs post-purchase), has no recollection of having examined/certified this vehicle as being in roadworthy condition prior to its sale Having to pay $3,or more for a replacement engine plus the labor and time to install it is greater than the purchase price of the vehicle itself It has turned out to be a terrible decision financially to have made this purchase, and quite understandably will negatively affect my decision to purchase in the future from this dealer (or any used-car dealer for that matter), without investing in a comprehensive, independent 3rd-party mechanical inspection "Once bitten, twice shy" is how I would term this experience It appears that the opinions of both parties are fixed, making any further resolution unlikely In the absence of a resolution, I will be content that this matter remains on file with the Revdex.com, and available for public inspection Regards, [redacted]

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The seller indicated that "the vehicle ran good" prior to its purchase.  Reliance on this representation was important in the purchase decision.  A previous purchase made from this dealer was also "as is," and was represented verbally to be in acceptable working condition, and it was found to be as it had been represented.  This experience weighed heavily in the decision to trust Mr. [redacted]'s representation about this vehicle. The Jeep had been on the lot for some time, as I saw it frequently when out and about walking my dog, and when I would go to the grocery.  Apparently, it was not selling.  My roommate indicated that he had taken it for a test drive prior to asking me to also take a look at it.  Neither of us are mechanics.  When the roommate and I were negotiating for possible purchase, the owner said that he really didn't "care whether [we] buy the vehicle or not," as he was planning on "sending it to the auction" that day.  Based on a measure of trust I had with the seller given the previous purchase, I concluded (wrongly) that the vehicle was difficult to sell because of its age, large size, existing total number of miles driven or for some other reason.  I had looked at a CarFax report on the vehicle I had bought prior to its purchase, and since there was no record of any major engine-type problems with the vehicle, I felt comfortable with the decision that if the vehicle went to auction, it would not be for major engine defects, as I could not find record of any.Nonetheless, it has been a terrible decision to have made a purchase decision from this vendor, and leads to the inevitable (yet understandable) question by this purchaser as to whether or not the seller knew more about this vehicle's likelihood of breaking down (beyond the >160,000 miles on the odometer) than what he is representing.  The dealer's mechanic (to whom the vehicle was taken for repairs post-purchase), has no recollection of having examined/certified this vehicle as being in roadworthy condition prior to its sale.  Having to pay $3,500 or more for a replacement engine plus the labor and time to install it is greater than the purchase price of the vehicle itself.  It has turned out to be a terrible decision financially to have made this purchase, and quite understandably will negatively affect my decision to purchase in the future from this dealer (or any used-car dealer for that matter), without investing in a comprehensive, independent 3rd-party mechanical inspection.  "Once bitten, twice shy" is how I would term this experience.  It appears that the opinions of both parties are fixed, making any further resolution unlikely.  In the absence of a resolution, I will be content that this matter remains on file with the Revdex.com, and available for public inspection.

On July 29, 2015 [redacted] purchased a 2006 Jeep Commander from Lombardo Auto Sales he was given every opportunity to test drive and check this vehicle out thoroughly . We do not in any way shape or form pressure any of our customers to purchase a vehicle . Mr. [redacted] test drove the...

vehicle and when he returned decided to purchase this vehicle. We do sell all of our vehicles AS-IS as stated on his paperwork . We have no control as it is a used vehicle and was sold to him with 166390 miles . We do on the other hand try to help by providing a service garage that with be honest and give them a fair price for repairs should they arise .
