I spoke with [redacted] from the company and he stated that his brother did the work with him that day and he would not leave any of his workers alone if there was a safety issue and he is overly conscience when it comes to safety. He gave...

the consumer an estimate of $350 but only charged $225. The repair was for 5-7 bricks that have soaked up water and to make the bricks waterproof. There is a 5 year warranty for his work and he does guarantee his work. He did the repairs and made the bricks waterproof. In some cases, you may need to do several coats of waterproofing for the repair to work. During the repair, [redacted] did have another appointment to make and left his brother to do the one man job. When he returned the consumer left to go out of town. In 2013, he received a call that some of the bricks need the repairs again. When [redacted] went on the roof, there was a new chuck of brick missing that was not his original repair and suggested getting the waterproofing done again and the consumer declined. The consumer also had tree removal work being done the same day. He did do the repairs to his work and the new repairs for no charge to the consumer. In 2014, [redacted] received a call from [redacted] regarding the more repairs that needed to be done but needed to be done in a week. [redacted] explained to the consumer that he was booked for the next 2 weeks and would not be able to come out to the home in such short notice. At that time, [redacted] was told that the consumers would find a new repair service to have the work done. [redacted] was not given the opportunity to fix the problems. Homeadvisor  contacted me and initiated a three way phone call between [redacted], the consumer, and the representative with Homeadvisor. Homeadvisor used to be [redacted] and it is a paid lead service that [redacted] has been using since around 2009 or so.  They contacted the customer for a conference call and tried to resolve the matter.  The consumer, would not let [redacted] finish his sentences, and would not let [redacted] try and resolve the issue.  He kept saying that he wanted a $350.00 refund when I had only charged him $225.00 for the work in question. The consumer finally hung up the phone and left just the Homeadvisor representative and [redacted] on the phone. [redacted] thought that the Revdex.com would like to know about this so the Revdex.com will know that I have tried to settle this matter through HOMEADVISOR also but to no avail. The consumer said prior to him hanging up that he would just handle the matter through the Revdex.com.

Review: I contacted this business in spring of 2012 to resolve an issue with bricks crumbling on my fire place. He gave me a quote ($350) for repairing the brick and sealing to

prevent any further damage with a five year warranty. I was having the house siding replaced with vinyl and the contractor requested that he complete his work before he installed siding so sealant would not be over sprayed. When he gave me quote it was 6 weeks before the siding work was to start. We set up date and he cancelled at least four times and finally showed up May 5 a Saturday before the siding was to start. The only reason he showed then I believe is my siding contractor gave me another companies name to get it done . He was hours late and we had to leave to go out of town. When we left he had gone some where else and left his worker alone working on a chimney on the roof on ladder with incline. This should have been a sign that I shouldn't allow him to do the work. So I assume he did seal the chimney.

In the spring of 2013 I notice the repairs that he had done to the bricks were breaking off and laying around the chimney. No new breaks just what he had done. So, I contacted him and he said he would call back with a date to do repairs. After months of calling him and saying he would call and set up an appointment my wife had to call and I'll say be firm with him. He set a date. Well as in the past he didn't show up. So wife calls again he gave the excuse that he had new jobs he had to do before he could get to us. That did not fly well with her so, he finally shows up and complains while he's here that he's losing a job because he's here redoing what he had repaired. Well here we are in spring of 2014 and his repairs are laying on ground again worse than 2013. No new breaks so, I guess he's good at sealing not repairing. Strike three he's out. I'm not dealing with this guy again this year. I'm sure over all he's a good man but, not for me.Desired Settlement: $350 refund.
