When the Jeep was brought to us in 2015 we were asked to see if the motor needed a valve job.(Strange to send a customer somewhere else to do the work you are capable of doing at your shop) Their Mechanic had recommended one. We did all the regular compression and leak down tests that are normal. We...

could not find any indication it needed a valve job, People often come in with repair requests that other shops have given them only to find out they wern't sure what the problem is. We always check to make sure that what they asked for was the problem. We tested the Jeep and could not find a reason for the motor to need a valve job so we talked to [redacted]. Him and [redacted] decided to do a bunch of  service and repairs on other parts of the Jeep. Please keep in mind some of the parts are no longer available and have to be sourced from individual Jeep Salvage Yards and private parts collectors across the Country. I spent many many weeks locating some of the parts he asked us to repair or replace. After we got the Jeep back on the road ( some parts took weeks on end to get ) We test drove the Jeep. We would put roughly 50 miles on it with no issues. They would come get it and for some reason or another they would call and say they were stranded somewhere. We always reacted instantly to aide them to get to where ever they needed to go. We have drove and tested the Jeep many times and had no problems and as soon as they would come get the Jeep they would have some type of Issue. We have always Tried to recreate the problems they were having many of time we would go ahead and replace certian parts related to the issues they were having at no cost to them. We even went as far as doing  major repair to the motor because it was a possibility but doubtful they they might be the culprit. We Pride ourselves on being an Honest repair shop and our Customer Revues reflect that. We still belive a valve job is not the motors problem to date.We still are willing to work on the Jeep at no cost to try to resolve the problem. Lone Star Jeep Works is not in the practice of Ignoring customers automotive concerns just to hope they will go away. Thank You , [redacted], Mgr Lone Star Jeep Works.

I Responded to this Email on 5/12/16> I'm not very good a computer skills. If the Email did not make I don't know how to tell. We got a call about the Jeep asking about a Valve Job. They said Their Mechanic reccomended a Valve Job and what would we charge to do it. We told them to bring the Jeep and let us look and see what we thought. We performed a compression and Leak down tests and the Jeep showed no sighns of needing a Valve Job. (We often have customer be told by other shops they need unnesscary work) We run an honest Buisness , [redacted] talked with them about the Jeep. At that point they came to an agreement on the motor repairs. They also talked about other repairs not motor related and decided on other repairs as well. his Jeep is a Model that has been out of production for nearly 30 years. Some of the parts they asked to get replaced took months to locate and aquire. We have always tried to recreate the issues they say they have with the Jeep. We always test drive their Jeep at least 40 to 50 miles and don't have any problems. Mrs [redacted] says she cant make it 3 miles before it dies. We have replaced many Items at no charge . We are not trying to do anybody wrong here. We can come to an agreement on the motor work we have done. I do not see it fair to request for repairs not related to the motor work. [redacted]
