D[redacted] --------------------------------------------- DECEMBER 23rd - The party called and stated they wished to purchase a Doberman pup. She said they had researched the available market and decided that Lonestar Dobermans had the best genetics they were looking for. Lonestar imports European Dobermans with testing done for the most prevalent genetic diseases in Dobermans. These animals are used to produce fullblood and high percentage European dogs. In addition, an aggressive vaccination and parasite control program ensure the animals are in good health. They are fed premium feed not containing cereal grains but natural protein. This information was provided to the potential buyers. The dogs are handled and exercised daily. While cautious at first, within a few minutes they are pestering visitors for affection. They are kenneled at night in a heat controlled building. They are allowed outside 3 times a day. The party wanted to come view the dogs the next day, Christmas eve. DECEMBER 24th - The party arrived at 9am and chose a 6 month old female. They agreed to the purchase terms which in general state it is their dog unless there is an emergent major health issue within specified time periods. See attached agreement at:[redacted]   DECEMBER 25th - The party emailed that they wished to return the dog. (Email attached).  She says the dog is not SOCIALIZED and was terrified about its new surroundings….cattle, washing machine, tv,…..and they hadn’t even CRANKED UP THE ATV yet! (Note: They also have 5 large breed adult dogs).  Lonestar responded by email that the dog would acclimate if given more than a few hours (they live 3+ driving hrs from Lonestar so the pup arrived at their home mid afternoon on the 24th).  If they still wished to return the pup she could be replaced with a younger (8 to 12 week old) puppy when one became available.  Taking a dog back it must be isolated to prevent the introduction of communicable diseases. A returned dog adds both risks and costs to dogs at Lonestar. The party emailed a response that they felt 10% of the dogs cost would defray these costs and Lonestar accepted their terms (Email attached). DECEMBER 26th -The party arrived at Lonestar at 7 am with the pup. They demanded a full return of the purchase price vs their proposed agreement and wanted money for a veterinarian bill. Lonestar offered 90% of the purchased price in cash per the agreement. The party called [redacted] on [redacted] saying it was a (civil dispute?). Then she agreed to take the 90% though at this time they claimed the dog had a discharge of pus from one eye. She wanted to cancel the sheriff’s call but Lonestar insisted a deputy respond so there would be no questions later. The party also said she had already called the [redacted] and other breeders in the area. Lonestar called [redacted] and spoke to [redacted] to let them know they could come over immediately and inspect the facility. Lonestar has passed inspection and welcomes suggestions from animal control, resulting in new buildings and new electrical to power ventilation. The deputy was able to view the pup and can be contacted to get her visual appraisal of the dog’s condition. The party offered no prescription medications or receipt from the alleged vet visit. No ocular discharge was noted though a facial puncture wound was noted on teh puppy's face. It looked similar to a dog bite (draw your own conclusion but with large dogs present bites are common to establish the hierarchy when new dogs are introduced). Nothing was mentioned by the party about this but a photo (see attached) shows the puncture. In summation, Lonestar honored the terms of all agreements made by both parties.  Occasionally there are customers that are unhappy and there is no resolution. Lonestar did allow the return of the dog for a nominal fee to cover the aforementioned costs of quarantine. Hope this adequately addresses the concern.
