Review: hired contractor using this business name calling himself [redacted] to redo front stoop to my private colonial home. He and his company were to make repairs look like the work done to my rear steps and porch, there is no similarity in materials or craftsmanship, misrepresenting the product service I was going to receive, as well as failing to honor our verbal contractual agreement. He used cheap materials and did the job incorrectly. He left wood under capping when replacing rails exposed and they grinded rails off siding improperly removing them leaving a dangerous exposure of metal protruding from siding resulting in additional damage and leaving me with new repairs to be completed. He left old iron rails on lawn. The brick he used was merely laid on top of old porch, not cemented in properly and cut uneven and doesn't even surround stoop. He improperly installed weak pvc railings which are not properly mounted to the wall creating a safety hazard for myself and my family. HIs repairs are inferior and inappropriate. I spent this morning looking up the licensing information he supplied me on his business cards and the license number does not exist nor his business name recognized with the department of state or consumer affairs.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive a refund of moneys paid to date as I am very unhappy with his unsatisfactory work. I would not request he complete or redo repairs himself as his business seems to be invalid and work unprofessional.

Review: The company installed a patio of pavers at a cost of $5000,00. It had a 5 year guarantee. Installed 3/**/14. The cement separated at the edge. I called and they came over in the beginning of June. They said they would repair it within the week (June [redacted]) . They never came back and will not reply to my phone calls.Desired Settlement: Return $1,000.00 as the estimated cost to repair the separated cement.

Review: Long Ireland Masonry Bay Shore NY installed a new driveway which was totally un-even and wavy, has lines and ridges which have up to two inch uneven dips where water pools. The driveway is mostly not usable, 2 months after the installation vehicles parked on it sink leaving tire marks through out the surface.Aesthetically, the driveway is an indication of very poor workmanship.Desired Settlement: I would prefer if possible to have the driveway re-rolled, smoothed out and leveled properly or completely re-done correctly if it cannot be repaied

[Your Answer Here]

The contractor made an extremely poor attempt of correcting the issue and in fact the new asphalt drive he installed looks worse then it did before, now with spots, new depresions, and with all of the existing issues still remaining.

The contractor attempted to cover up the poor apparence by applying a top coat sealer - the work is totally unsatisfactory for a 'new' driveway it is substandard work with a contractor having no pride in the job.

He placed a sign with his phone number so other neighbors could contact him - neighbors responded saying "this is the type of contractor they need to avoid"

Review: The reason I am filling a complaint against Long Ireland Masonry & paving is because I was given a price of $7,000 for a paving job of 3 inches of black top on my property. I was told that I was going to definitely get a full 3 inches along my driveway as well as my yard. When the contractor came to give me the estimate they seen that my driveway was currently concrete. I was told that they will break up the concrete so that they can perform the job properly in order for me to get a full 3 inches of black top because of my basement windows. Had they left the concrete it would have sat too high and water would have came into my basement. Once we came to an agreement and I signed my contract which clearly states the 3" of black top, digging out entire driveway, drainage work, etc. They then began the job. I realized right then and there that they started to do things differently then what my contract said. I tried to tell them while they were working and they proceeded to tell me not to worry that everything will come out fine and that I will have my full 3 inches and that the water will drain when it rains. I stepped out and when I returned the job was half way done. I noticed that they never broke up my concrete and just laid a very thin layer of a total of only 1" of black top right over the existing concrete. I had my edges done with bricks and once the job was completed and it rained the water was not being drained properly I have huge puddles in several areas. I contacted the company right away and they told me that they will fix everything. They waited for it to be a rainy day so that they can see it for them selves. The way they decided to "fix" it was by going into my neighbors property and digging a hole and banging my bricks down in one area so that the water can drain when it rains. They left a mess as well as a huge hole in my neighbors property and now my brick work is all uneven. Not only am I getting puddles but the layer of black top is so thin that you cannot place anything down on it that right away it leaves an indent. Once they made the hole in my neighbors property they left and never returned after me trying to contact them several different times. On top of everything they also did not clean up after themselves they left all the rocks from there work and I had to pay someone $1,000 to come and clean up as well as resurfacing my landscapeDesired Settlement: I would like to get refunded my money because the work that was on my contract was not fully performed nor completed properly. Now I have to pay a different company to come and tare this entire job apart and do it all over again. I spent a total of $7,000 to have this job done right This company is licensed and so I expected the job to be done just as my contract said
