Long Island Liberty Construction

Review: I hired Long Island Liberty Construction on May *, 2013 to fix some holes and shingle replacements on my roof. All along, since February, I spoke with [redacted], not realizing [redacted] never left his truck and doesnt do the work. He never even went on my roof. He led me to believe he was doing the work and I trusted him. He said he was replacing the plywood on top of the holes and that was why I hired him. He said he was going to replace plywood in front and back parts of my roof..he said their were 5 holes (I had to take his word since I cant see the top of my roof) and they would be secure and I wouldnt have to worry for years.I paid him $950 in CASH he wanted $1000 in CASH but I got him down to $950 which I now realize was way excessive)...Since I am a widow I had someone check my roof to see exactly what his one worker did for 3 hours. The plywood was NOT secure.it wasn't nailed down or tarred and it lifted right up.His worker just plopped it down over a hole. Hardly a $1000 repair! The shingles in the front of my house are completely up in the air with a wire hanging down that wasn't hanging there before. [redacted] accused me of making the wire hang down, which I assure you, I wouldn't go on that roof ever! This is the spot his worker said he repaired. It is noticeable from the street and since I cant go on the roof to look at it, but I know it wasn't done right. [redacted] told me on the phone that when the weather got hot...(which it did .it was very hot last week 90) they would adhere. It didn't happen. I have called [redacted] constantly since the repair, sent him pictures.....and he never calls me back. It has been weeks now and I have records of every call..... I have before the repair pictures and after his workers work, and also have pictures of now. His worker told me that [redacted] never told him to replace plywood. I was grossly overcharged.misled and threatened when I asked [redacted] why he was doing this to me. I have never encountered customer service like this in my life.Desired Settlement: I can not depend on this company to come back and do the repair properly..And if they ever do come back.....they will just walk on my roof and do nothing again. [redacted] told me the repair was high because of the supplies he had to purchase which consisted of one sheet of plywood (which he took with him when they left for the next job).about 20 shingles if that.....some tar......comes to about $100 if that. I would like a refund so I can pay someone to do the job properly and not take advantage.

This letter is to inform you that the problem with [redacted] was resolved. There was an animal in her attic that was causing havoc. She sent me a picture of the plywood that needed to be fixed. I fired my worker that was supposed to fix it the first time, and made sure it was done right. I also refixed a spot where animal got in or out in the back of house. [redacted] was happy when I left.

Regarding my complaint.. [redacted] has sent someone who does amazing work to redo what his guy did. He has since fired that guy. I am happy now that my roof is fixed.
