January 20, 2016Revdex.comServing Western Pennsylvania [redacted] Dear [redacted] I am responding to [redacted] ***’s complaint filed on 1/9/ID# [redacted] may need to be property informed of his own vehicleLet’s take note that his vehicle is at least years old and because of our many years of experience we noticed wheel lug nuts on his vehicle that were swelledThe clad shell was swelled due to rust, therefore we had difficultly removing the lug nutsThis is a common occurrence in the tire industry.Furthermore [redacted] suggested we would replace the valve stemsThis simply is not true, because he has non replaceable valve stemsHe has a valve stem and TPMS system that is combined as one piece, (see attached information)The cost to replace this system is approximately $eachWhen [redacted] came into the tire shop his TPMS sensor light was already illuminatedThis is caused by many reasons, (see attachment)Mr***’s problem is not with the sensors, but with his TPMS systemIt is our practice to scan the sensors for failure, which Mr [redacted] witnessed us doing, We also reset the system to turn off the light according to Dodge recommendations found in the vehicles owners manualIf the light continues to illuminate it is due to a problem with his TPMS system not the sensorsHe may have a malfunction in one to the componentsWe do not offer that service. As to the reference of "using a hammer’ to remove the wheel, this is a procedure that is used with a rubber mallet, commonly caused by neglected maintenanceRust should be removed and lubricant applied anytime the wheels are removedThis is another common procedure that we perform. The lug nut issue is a very common wear and tear problem (see attachment)The proper way to start a lug is by hand and then turning it on turns, making it nearly impossible to cross thread the lug nutThe problems with lug nuts are often caused by debris lodging between the wheel stud and wheel nut causing the wheel nut to tighten and the stud to break. To address Mr***’s complaint regarding our phone conversation, he was obviously agitated making it impossible to explain our operating procedures and that this is a common occurrenceI did express that I would ‘‘hang up” if he was unable to calm down and listen to my explanation and resolutionI attempted to tell him to purchase the wheel stud and lug nuts and we would install them at no chargeI reiterate he was very agitated and rude using derogatory language, at this point it was apparent he wasn't receptive to my explanation and resolution and proceeded to tell me he would be turning me into the Revdex.com and hung up.Therefore, acting in a professional business manner, we will be sending Mr [redacted] a money order in the amount of $to purchase wheel studs and lug nuts at his convenienceDue to the situation we would prefer he have them installed at a garage other than Long’s Tire Sales.Sincerely,Long’s Tire Sales, Management

in response to longs tireAfter reviewing longs tires message I have come to the conclusion that Mrl*** is simply trying to pass on the buck to avoid any other actions from taking placeMrl*** states that I used abusive language which is simply not correct and he states my mechanical abilities are non existentwell what Mrl*** fails to realize is the I use to be a Ase certified mechanic a few years ago and have extensive knowledge of auto-truck and small engine repair and maintenance proceduresMrl*** states the tpms system is a one piece unit well this is simply not true, the valve stems can be replaced cause they replaced the driver-side valve stems and I witnessed it while I was there on my second tripthe tpms system light was not on when I showed up the first time it was off and he would not know that cause he makes his customers pull there vehicle in and out of the shopMrl*** is clearly confused on the matter of the tpms system reset process and I believe his mechanics including him self has little or no knowledge of the proper procedures for tpms system reset procedures, had I known this I would not have gone there to avoid problems laterI have since taken the truck to a reputable shop that knows how to use the scan tool to have the tpms system reset and the light is off, I asked the mechanic that did the reset what he found as far as why the light stayed on and he said that it simply needed reset correctly and apparently longs tire did not know how to do thatin addition to Mrl*** remarks on the wear and tear and tpms system common problems he stated I have a dodge ram when in fact I have a dodge ram and they are too totally different systems and procedures to the reset processI have since got the tire off the rim and I have replaced the studs my-selfI would like for Mrl*** to Refund me for the replacement of my rim (USED) and to cover the costs of the studs and the reset of the tpms systemThe rim I wont know if it is safe to drive on due to hairline cracks that may have been caused by striking the rim with a metal hammer/maul is the reason I want the rim replacedShould this rim fail and the failure was caused by longs tire there will be major problems for longs tire I will be attaching pictures of the rim and the receipt for the lug nuts they installed and the hub assembly showing the studMrl*** states that he greases the hub assembly to avoid the galvanic welding of metal to metal and as the pictures show he clearly does not use anythingMrl*** states he is going to send a dollar refund fee and later states he is sending a dollar refund fee, well which is it? dollars don't even cover the cost of the tpms system reset at the shop I took the truck tothe studs I purchased were dollars a piece and I needed of them not including tax
