We were very happy with the carpet-cleaning job and its cost by Longo Carpet Cleaning. Our basement has a 21' X 31' Berber carpet that hadn't been cleaned in 25 years. From the friendly greeting of a REAL PERSON via phone, to the thoughtful estimate, to the efficient and thorough cleaning job by Rich, as well as his knowledge and friendly demeanor - we were impressed and are happy customers. We will definitely do business with Longo Carpet again.

In october 2014, I had a flood in my basement due to an underground pipe issue. I called Longo Carpet to do the cleanup of my finished basement.They cleaned it all up. But, to me it still smelled funny. The same technician came back and sprayed the area to stop any mold from appearing. I could still smell something funny. Evidently, the technician had overlooked an area of the kitchen. I pulled up the old linoleum. The same technician came back and sprayed again. He said there would not be any mold, that he had completely sprayed everything. I had new carpet (pool room) and vinyl (kitchen) installed. I painted the cellar stairs. But when the new smell (from new carpet, vinyl, paint) wore off, I still smelled something funny. I didn't call Longo back again because the technician stated that there would be no mold, as he had sprayed several times. But the smell continued. No one else could smell it. But, I had never seen or smelled mold, so I didn't know what the smell was. Finally, I couldn't take it any longer, and I called [redacted] (saw their commercial on tv).The technician from [redacted] right away said that I have mold. He said that whoever treated the cellar after the flood, overlooked the area under the cellar stairs. I was right! It was mold! He told me that I had to call Longo Carpet back as they needed to spray the area and remove the mold.I called up Longo Carpet. I was told that I needed to speak with "[redacted]". I tried several times to get [redacted] and left messages. I was finally told she leaves at 3 pm. I finally called her and told her the issue. She stated "why did you wait so long to call us back". I told her because I didn't know it was mold, and that the technician stated there would be no mold as he completely sprayed.Because of Longo's oversight, I had mold. My wall had to be cut out, and some of the kitchen wall area. I asked [redacted] about the payment of this process. She stated lets take care of the mold first and then I'll call you to talk about it. I asked her if her company knew how to cut out the mold and fix the area. She stated if she didn't, she'd get someone to do it. She never called! She sent me 3 invoices within a month's time. I told her the insurance company is taking care of it. The insurance company told me to forward any invoices from Longo to them as they would take care of it. Along the way, I was told that the owner [redacted] would be coming to my house to look at the damage. He never showed.I called [redacted] and told her about the 'repairs". I told her once the invoice was settled that they need to correct the repairs. Never heard from Longo.When Longo came to cut out the mold (they sent the same technician who made the oversight 3 times), the 2 technicians were unsure exactly what should be cut. They left the area in disarray. I am not even sure they removed all the mold, or if I still have mold.Desired SettlementResolution: Longo needs to have the area repaired and checked for mold (preferrably by another expert). I know they can't bring it back to the way it was, but since it was their "oversight", they should make the area presentable. If they hadn't made the "oversight", then I wouldn't have had mold and I wouldn't have had a kitchen in disarray.
