Engaged Long Auto Place Inc. to negotiate and obtain a new vehicle for me from Subaru. They negotiated and got me a 10% discount from the dealer with all the specs that I had identified. The vehicle arrived at their lot. I took care of all the paperwork with them either over the phone and on the day I picked up my car. Easy peasy! They also purchased my 'old' vehicle at a reasonable and acceptable price. My husband had done the same thing with them only a couple years ago. We have been highly satisfied with this business and would recommend (without any hesitation)!!!

1. Vehicle is a 7 year old vehicle and we did give a better than drive train warranty for 30 days or 1,000 miles whichever comes first. Head gasket was not a covered component but we authorized to take care of the client.
2. Had smoke...

out of engine, which we never saw or inspected at any time.
a. Mr. [redacted]'s mechanic, a friend of Mr. [redacted], diagnosed a 1500 repair
b. Mr. [redacted]'s mechanic after opened engine and then said needed more work and told us it would be 2500.00
c. Total bill came in at almost 2800.00, see attached, which was for a power steering reservoir and water pump not authorized but to keep a client happy we paid
3. After the work was done by Mr. [redacted]'s mechanic and was paid by us, Mr. [redacted] called and said when they ordered the 2008 water pump it did not fit. Therefore it must be an older engine and he wanted to know the mileage. Was very upset because we did not tell him about the replacement even if it was not proven it was not original and if in fact it was replaced we did now know about it.
a. I did have a dealer pull an Auto Check, Carfax competitor, and does not state any engine replacement. I did tell Mr. [redacted] that info because he felt it would show on the report.
b. Long's Auto Place, Inc. had no knowledge of an engine replacement.
c. Mr. [redacted]'s own mechanic looked at the vehicle many times and never told us that the engine was replaced.
4. We called Roseville Chrysler and talked to [redacted] in the parts department. Here is what he said:
a. The build date on the vehicle Mr. [redacted] was April 11, 2007 even though the model year is 2008.
b. Chrysler changed the engine in February 5, 2007. But there were some vehicle even after that date received the pre February 5, 2007 engine.
c. According to [redacted], there is no way to tell which engine was in the vehicle that Mr. [redacted] has purchased.
d. There was a change in water pumps but not able to tell which one it will fit.
5. Our position is that we do not know if there was even an engine replacement in its life. Even if there was we did not know about it. Auto Check does not show an engine replacement. There was a head gasket issue and we did pay his mechanic to repair and he is happy with the performance. I am sorry, as I told him on the phone, how he feels but we feel we took care of the client very well but unable to verify or find out anything else on the engine. Long's Auto Place, Inc. sold the vehicle in good faith, repaired the vehicle in good faith. The vehicle has actual mileage as was sold and purchased.
