Thank you for your inquiry regarding the complaint you received from Mr*** *** concerning services we provided to his dog, Chili PepperIn short, we do not believe that Mrand Mrs*** have legal grounds for their legal grounds for their complaintMr*** was not present when Mrs
*** presented Chili Pepper to our hospital, based upon a referral from their primary care veterinarian in the Auburn area, after Chili Pepper ingested parts of a rope toy and had vomited several times that dayAfter examining Chili Pepper and performing diagnostics, our doctor recommended and Mrs*** agreed to hospitalize the dog, provide supportive care and observe him throughout the nightMrs*** signed a Treatment Plan including estimated charges and during the night, the dog defecated rope/string-like material and was feeling quite better by the next dayCharges were within those estimatedMr*** questioned the doctor upon discharge and has had multiple conversations with myself and our medical director sinceAs a gesture of good faith, and in an attempt to resolve this matter amicably, we did offer Mrand Mrs*** a 50% refund of the approximately $paid in exchange for signing a standard release prepared by our parent company, VCA, IncNothing short of a full refund and a written apology will satisfy the ***'sSince our doctors and staff provided only the indicated, appropriate level of veterinary care, we cannot and will not issue a written apologyMr*** has waged an attack on our hospital via Social Media and has now presented this complaint to youWe remain steadfast in our belief that Mr***'s best recourse is to file a Small Claims action where a judge will rule fairly based upon the facts presented.Best regards,*** ***, CVPMHospital AdministratorVCA Loomis Basin Veterinary Clinic###-###-####***[email protected]: Peter Vellutini, DVM, Medical Director

Review: VCA Loomis Basin Veterinary Clinic used deception and emotion to bilk our family out of hundreds of dollars. When confronted three different professionals presented three different reasons for their decision to hospitalize our medicate our Boston Terrier. Had I not intervened when I did - they would have ramped up the charges even more. They are extremely good at manipulating their clients by using a "fear of loss". We believe this company should be investigated on numerous fronts. For starters, one should read the YELP REVIEWS - especially take a look at the "51 reviews that are not currently recommended" Our story is quite detailed and lengthy. We demand a letter of apology from VCA Loomis Basin Veterinary Hospital for using professional deception for the purpose of bilking money from our family and then lying to justify their actions.
