I called Loraas in North Battleford because I had a lot of scrap metal and such on the farm that we wanted gone. We have been satisfied customers of their household waste bin located on our property (over the past year) so it was logical to see if they could also deal with other material. When I phoned the business, I was informed of the cost for this special bin, a daily rental as well as a delivery charge. I was fine with all of this info provided to me. The cost told to me was going to be around the $500 mark. Again, that was the expectation and I was comfortable with that price. All was good until I got the bill in the mail. There was an additional $441.50 (a so called "emptying charge") on top of the agreed upon amount. At no time was I ever told of this "extra" charge. This doubled the price! I phoned Loraas and spoke to the owner/manager who proceeded to say that this is standard and it costs more to carry metal back on the road. *** I run large machinery and arrange transport of cattle and grain on a constant basis so I know this is untrue. Furthermore, to "empty" the waste takes a matter of minutes with their truck since it is a matter of pushing buttons and pulling levers, not hours of intense physical labor.
Billing Adjustment I have no problem paying the price quoted to me originally (approximate $500) but the additional $441.50 + GST is not fair nor reasonable. *** I did not agree to pay this extra amount. That is would needs to be resolved.
is a customer of ours for several years now. He has a small acreage bin that he pays a monthly fee on. On September 22nd we delivered a 14yard roll off bin out to his place by *** It was removed on Nov 27th. All roll off bins are priced the same way. He was qouted and charged a delivery fee, a haul fee and a daily rental. I do believe there was a miscommunication some where in this process and that the quote was not fully understood causing confusion. It was also more complicated as *** wanted the bin hauled to a 3rd part metal scrap dealer, so we were back and forth with them as well on whether they would take the material and if there would be a charge or rebate for it. The delivery was $331.50 and the haul (to remove the bin) was $441.50 with $5.00 daily rental. The rates are based on the KM out to the acreage which is an hour away from our shop. *** had called upset and I went through all of the pricing with him and apologized if there was a miscommunication. *** wife came in days later to pay the bill and I also went through the pricing structure with her and she was upset about the bill being larger then they had budgeted for. We agreed that there was a misunderstanding and I also credited the account $204.75 which she agreed was fair. She paid the account in full and they remain a customer of Loraas's to date. We appreciate their business and pride ourselves in serving our customers with a high standard of service and customer service. There has been no issues or communication with the *** after this date and she did let me know when she was in that there was complaint made.
