Los Angeles Reporter's Clinic Reviews (3)

Sadly, this person's complaint is completely false.  The Los Angeles Reporter's Clinic has never offered students a Money-Back Guarantee if they didn't land a job within a year.  Our...

offer was that you would land a job interview within a year.  LARC has no control over who gets hired.  Why would we offer a guarantee that a student would get hired?  So, her claims that she has documented evidence of an offered Money-Back guarantee she'd be hired as a reporter is purely a lie.  It doesn't exist and never has.
More importantly, the policy LARC offered (guaranteed job interview) had been canceled more than a year before this person took our program.  LARC has helped more than 200 reporters land their first on-air job or job interview since it was started more than 10 years ago.  No other private resume tape service even comes close to that success rate.  Our graduates are working at CNN, FOX Business News, VH-1 and other major markets, including New York, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C. and many more.  News directors around the country have the highest regard for our program because we train student reporters in the real world, covering breaking news stories, celebrity red carpets and much more.
This person claims our stories are phony.  Odd, since she interviewed basketball star Lamar Odom in her class.  She also interviewed LAPD officials about a terrifying video taped robbery in Los Angeles.  Our students have interviewed dozens of newsmakers and celebrities, including President Jimmy Carter, director James Cameron, Republican Presidential Nominee Mitt Romney, Oscar winner Denzel Washington, Beyonce, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, director Spike Lee, George Clooney, Congresswoman Maxine Waters, Kobe Bryant, Gov. Jerry Brown, Chris Brown, attorney Robert Shapiro, Lou Gossett, Jr., director Tim Burton, Quincy Jones, Andy Williams, Johnny Mathis  and many, many more.  Go to our website www.RealNews.com to see how real our reports are.
Finally, it is unfortunate that this person did not have any success finding a reporter job.  The overwhelming majority of students who try to become reporters never find a job.  It's an extremely difficult business to get into.  I hope she finds better ways to direct her energy than to libel our company, which has helped so many people reach their dreams.  LARC would like to thank the Revdex.com for this opportunity to respond to this person's false claims.

LARC stands by it's previous response.  Our Guarantee policy (which was for a job interview, not a job as this customer falsely claims) had been canceled long before she took our program.  LARC is the most highly respected private resume tape service in the country, with more than 200 graduates working as reporters, anchors, hosts, or have been called for job interviews.

This person never qualified for a refund and won't be receiving one.

Thank you, again, Revdex.com, for an opportunity to respond.

Review: I currently have my bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism and for graduates who are trying to land a career job in the television industry, (especially an on-air reporting or anchoring position) we all know that landing a career job can be very challenging and difficult, especially if you do not have a phenomenal resume tape that will literally reach out to a News Director and grab their attention within seconds. So since my resume tape from college was very amateurish, and had not landed me a career job in years, I decided to invest in my future and spend almost $2000.00 dollars that I DID NOT HAVE TRYING TO SACRIFICE FOR MY CAREER AND MY FUTURE SO THAT I'LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO LAND MY CAREER JOB, A REPORTING JOB AT A LOCAL OR NATIONAL TELEVISION STATION, OR AN ON-AIR ANCHORING OR HOSTING JOB ON-AIR.So I had seen the advertising for the "Los Angeles Reporting Clinic," a clinic in the Semi Valley, (Los Angeles) California area where the owner Mr. Jay [redacted] PROMISES that if you attend his camp that you'll land an on-air television job in your field within that one year of attending his PHONY TELEVISION CAMP, and if you DO NOT LAND A JOB WITHIN THAT YEAR, HE PROMISES ON HIS WEBSITE THAT IF YOU HAVE NOT LANDED A JOB WITHIN THAT ONE YEAR, THEN HE'LL REFUND YOUR MONEY BACK TO YOU, 100% AND I HAVE THE DOCUMENTATION TO PROVE IT.It's been over two years and I've been faithfully and consistly trying to land an on-air job in my field, mailing my resume tape to News Directors all over the world, and I have yet to land a job. I reached out to Mr. Jay [redacted] and he had a nonchalant, cocky, cavalier attitude as if I am wrong for reaching out to him for a refund since he never held up to his part of his contract. The television reporting camp was very PHONY AND YOU'LL GET A CHNCE TO ACT AS IF YOU ARE A REAL CNN REPORTER BUT THE STORIES YOU COVER ARE FAKE AND MR. [redacted] MAKES UP THE PHONY STORIES. THE ONLY STRY THAT'S REAL WLL BE A CELEBRITY STORY AND THAT'S HOW HE GETS YOUR MONEY, HE'S A SCAMMERDesired Settlement: I want my money refunded back to me, 100% to its entirety. I sacrificied a lot to attend his phony camp and I have documentation where he says in print that if you haven't landed your job within one year, then he'll grant you your money back 100%. That's what I want. Mr. Jay Jackson is a scammer, those stories are phony, they are not real and I spent a lot of money just to attend that television camp so that I would have a job in my field. I WANT MY MONEY BACK BC HE BREACHED HIS CONTRACT!!
