that *** *** did not show up for an appointment that he had scheduled with the clinic, on 5/2/As a result of his non-attendance, our billing specialist sent a statement to the patient for collection of a $fee in line with our cancellation policyOur clinic policy for cancellation of appointments is the following: a patient who wishes to cancel an appointment must notify the clinic by 12:pm noon, business day before the appointmentI have attached this policy for your referenceThis policy is explained clearly to all patients at the beginning of their first appointmentWe then ask all patients to sign this policy to agree that they understand and will adhere to this policy*** ***, like all patients, had also signed this policy, agreeing to our termsI would also like to add that reminder phone calls are also sent to patients the day before their appointmentUnfortunately, *** *** did not show up to his appointment on 5/2/I have reviewed all our patient notes and no phone call or request was made to cancel this appointmentThis is the reason a statement was sent out for a ‘no-show’We are a small busy clinic that for the past years has supported our community in restoring fitness and wellness in our patientsWhen appointments are not kept, therapist schedules are left open and patients who could have taken up these appointment slots are not given the opportunityThis is the reason we have a cancellation policy in place to protect the patients, therapists and the clinic as a whole. This was explained to *** *** by my front desk staff when he came for his initial appointment and again when he received the statement and he said he understood both times. *** *** also place a negative review online, so my marketing director also reached out to him, and asked that he contact the clinic to discuss this issue*** *** has not reached out to meI would like to add, that we worked very closely with the patient so that he could get treatment and extended a courtesy discount of $to help him to afford treatment as he had requested.
