Louis P. Barberi Plumbing Reviews (%countItem)

I called this plumbing service and explained that my daughter-in-law was from another country and I had purchased her a stove a gas stove for her birthday and the stove stood out from the wall the new stove approximately an inch and a half and I would like to hire them to put the stove flush against the wall they move the old stove out and never said it was not up to regulations but when they came out after the flooring was put in to put in the new plumbing so the stove would fit flush against the wall for 500+ dollars they put in a turn off knob in the cabinet which they stead was required and then left the stove pulled out so the inspector could view the new plumbing work when the stove was put back in it stood out from the wall 4 1/2 inches when I called the plumbing service The owner Ms *** stated that all gas stoves stuck out from the wall several inches when we tried to explain to her that that was not so she became irate and acted like we were mns my brother who is in the emergency room and is an ex Builder got on the phone and she kept insisting that gas stove stood out inches from the wall and he did use a cuss word with her because he kept saying you're treating me like I'm a mn She then text me and said for another significant amount of money they could've done the job right which only infuriates me because they were hired to do the job right the first time I would not advise using this plumbing service sincerely

The initial contact we received from Ms. was December 20, 2018 and she spoke to Wendy. She told Wendy her daughter in-law did not speak English very well and she wanted us to remove some plumbing fixtures for a new floor installation and she was going to have her contact us to schedule a day to have this done. When Ms. began to discuss details about the stove installation Wendy told her to discuss those details with the plumber when he comes out. At 2:48 pm her daughter in law "Mai *** called to schedule for us to come remove 2 toilets and a gas stove for new flooring to be installed, she spoke and (seemed to) understand English just fine. December 28, 2018 we dispatched our plumber, he arrived at 12:29 pm and departed at 2:30 pm. He and his helper removed 2 toilets, 1 pedestal lavatory and disconnected the gas pipe for the range then capped the gas pipe. The pedestal lavatory was accidentally dropped by my plumber so we purchased a new (higher quality) pedestal lavatory from our plumbing supplier (to replace what we had broken at no charge) for our next trip out to re-install everything we removed. January 9, 2019 we returned to re-install 2 toilets and install the new pedestal lavatory. My plumber and helper arrived at 11:51 am and departed at 4:36 pmJanuary 11, 2019 we returned to reconnect the gas range now that we had the permit from the county. Gas code requires the emergency shut off valve to be accessible (inside the cabinet next to the range) and their existing gas shut off valve was behind the range, out of reach. My plumber quoted them a price of $525.95 minus the military discount of 10% for a total quote of $473.36 to reconnect the gas range. Includes bringing it up to code with the gas shut off valve inside the cabinet and a sediment tee as per code requirements plus a permit fee due to the requirement to have that work permitted and inspected by the Escambia County Inspection Department. My plumber informed me he explained the installation details to an older gentleman there (Ms. brother, she departed upon our arrival) that the existing gas pipe is stubbed up behind the existing range and it must do a 90 degree turn straight over and into the cabinet with an emergency shut off valve inside the cabinet. It's not possible for the range to be flush against the wall (with this type of installation) due to the range not having an indention on the back side rims. It was never discussed about putting the pipes inside the wall. This man seemed to understand so the work was completed and the range was left pulled out a couple of inches for the county inspector to view our work easier then it could be pushed back. The invoice was signed and paid by the daughter in law (Mai *** and she appeared to be happy with the work, she did not verbalize any issues what so ever. We scheduled the county inspection and the inspector approved our work. January 15, 2019 Ms. Stangland called our office and was immediately verbally abusive and cursing at Wendy then she asked to speak to whoever was in charge. Wendy politely informed her I was not available and I would return her call. When I returned her call she seemed to be in a better mood because it was a pleasant conversation. I listened to her complaints and it was agreed she would email pictures to me then I would discuss this with the plumber. My plumber and I viewed the pictures and he informed me of the discussion pertaining to the job with the older man as mentioned above.I agree that my plumber should have given them the option of putting the gas pipes inside the wall, it's my understanding he did not discuss that option. Installing the gas pipes inside the wall would have made the job about double the price due to the increased time and material necessary to accomplish that and most customers prefer the cheaper option. He should have given them that option! I have addressed that with him to prevent this in the future. I attempted to explain that and offer a discounted price to send him back out to put the gas piping in the wall during each conversation but she kept talking over me and cursing each time. Then, she put her brother on the phone (the man that authorized the work) and I attempted to explain this to him and he spoke over me, not allowing me to finish my sentence then cursed at me using the most offensive word (the GD word). At that point I chose to end all communication because they just do not want to hear my explanation and/or offer. I am offering (again) to have the gas pipes put inside the wall and will credit the $473.36 towards that job. I would send my foreman out to quote them a price (free quote) to accomplish this if they wish. I do request, if they choose to move forward, they be respectful in their communications, the foul language is offensive and unacceptable. Sincerely,*** Lacey, Vice President

I do not know how this company managed to earn an A+ rating when potential customers cannot reach them to make an appointment. I called their office twice this week, and both times I got a message saying, "There's no one here to take your call," and then the call was disconnected.
The first A+ Revdex.com rated plumber I attempted to hire this week was a no show. I understand grade inflation, but this is beyound ridiculous.

I apologize you were unable to reach us over the phone. I'm thinking you may have us confused with some other plumbing company because our voice mail does not say "There's no one here to take your call". Our voice mail gives our hours of operation and requests the caller to leave their name & phone number for a return call.
If it was actually our company it may have been during the time we closed for half a day (Monday 7-9-2018) for the funeral of our founder - my dad. I apologize for not changing our voice message to reflect the occasion but I just didn't think about that.
We pride ourselves on our customer service and hope to have an opportunity to be of service to you in the future should you need a plumber.
Sincerely,
Judith Lacey
