Review: My family has used this dentist for 3-4 years and our insurance changed during this time. The dentist was no longer in-network; my insurance pays 100% out-of-network and I had the office manager/billing staff ([redacted]) call my insurance to make sure that they paid at 100% out-of-network as I could not afford any dental bills at this time. She called and reassured me that out-of-network claims are "like" in-network and not to worry about it; she also stated that my insurance rep said that it was covered. So I allowed this dentist to "clean" my kids' teeth on 7/29/14. I received a bill a 8/14/14 for services not covered by my insurance for $213.00. I called the office to see if they could work with me to reduce or write off the bill and was told no; [redacted] stated that she only worked with people who were nice to her and would not help. The insurance company told me that they had told [redacted] that the services were covered at 100% of the allowable amount, which was under what [redacted] charged. She did not relay this information to me and led me to believe that the services would be covered in full. I asked 3-4 times to speak with the dentist over a 2-3 day period and was repeatedly turned down; [redacted] also stated that the dentist did not want to speak with me because she already had talked to him "at length" about this issue and he did not have time to "deal" with this. [redacted] also lied and stated that she never called my insurance company on the date of service ([redacted] has record of her call).Desired Settlement: The office staff lies and leads patients to believe that services will be covered by insurance. They are rude to patients and refuse to work with them unless they are "nice". I now have to pay $213 to this dentist who 1) refuses to speak with me about the issue per [redacted] and 2) refuses to work with patients after his staff made a mistake. I am paying the account in full tomorrow to avoid collections; however, I would like my money refunded.
