Thank you for forwarding this complaint from the complainantWe understand she has reviewed her Equifax credit report and has an inquiry on her report that she claims she did not authorizeIn investigating the matter it was determined that the complainant came in to reopen her account on 9/8/
As explained by our representative and part of our procedures the complainant was told we had to pull credit and Checksystems check to see if she qualified for the checking accountAt that time, she was denied a checking account due to not passing ChecksystemsOur representative explained to her what she needed to do in order to open the account by contacting Checksystems. The complainant took care of her report with Checksystems and returned to continue the opening process again on 9/22/2016, which at this time we did not rerun a credit check but did verify all was cleared through ChecksystemsThis is the process that we follow for opening all checking accounts and treat all of our members or potential members in the same manner. During my investigation of this matter I also learned that she did previously complain and our collections department also sent her a letter to explain the dispute process of disputing items on her credit report. I also spoke with the complainant regarding the dispute on the credit report and explained to her about disputing through the bureauShe told me that the bureau referred her back to the credit union.Unfortunately we are not able to remove the inquiry from her Equifax report
