Loved Consignment Boutique

Review: I had left several items of clothing and accessories at Loved Consignment Boutique since Feb. 2013. The owner[redacted] prices the merchandise at whatever she sees fit with no input by the consignor keeping 60% and giving consignor 40%. That was OK as that is the contract I signed. As weeks went by I would notice certain of my things were no longer in the store and I had not been paid, as I asked for update print-outs, and asked a lot of questions. In the meantime the owner purchased a 2nd store in [redacted] Ca. I was told my items were probably at the other store. I noticed the owner was having several half off sales. I became suspicious that she was putting what ever price she wanted on things, then marking them half off, then friends or family purchasing them would take them to her other store and jack the price way up. The owner told me [redacted] was a popular tourist town that catered to higher end clientele than at her [redacted] store. During this time she had paid me with 3 separate checks that couldn't be scanned by my bank's scanner. The last time this happened was July 13th, I tried to go over the writing on the check to make it darker, but the ATM shut my account down. I took the check back to the business and asked for a replacement check or cash. The employee would not make good on it nor call the owner. I had gone over the check so many times it was looking altered, so I tore it up and left it near the register and asked the employee to have the owner just mail me a good check. When the check didn't come a week later I called and left a message. The owner,[redacted], told me to pick up my things, which I had already decided to do. I picked up my things on July [redacted], 2013. After comparing what she returned to me with an inventory list of items entered and sold, I realized there were 3 designer handbags missing. The total value is $425.00

I want to have my missing items returned or the money I'm entitled to from the sale. If she is doing this to me I'm sure it is happening to others. On one of the days I was at the [redacted] store, there was a very unhappy young woman that said to the owner "I have been trying to get the money you owe me for two weeks". The people at that store are doing unethical things with merchandise that people have entrusted to their care, as well as possible criminal.
