Found the company on Thumbtack, Had them come in to redo the tile in my shower and replace the window in my shower. Joe was very prompt in coming by for a quote and getting the project scheduled. When I called to schedule the project and ask what I needed to do next, all Joe told me is that I have to go buy the tile for my shower. I asked several times if the quote he gave me was all I would have to pay and he said yes. I understand buying tile because it is my preference. He told me he would take care of the block window he was installing. He said he would come on Monday and take measurements and start demolition of the old surround. He showed up 30 mins later than the time he told me he would be there and took a quick measurement, told me that I would now be paying for the window and it was now an extra $200 over the quote he initially gave me. He then left and said he was done for the day because he had to go build the window (which he didn't do because he built it in my house as the window was going in). Tuesdaycomes and and his "son in law" come to the house and start demo. The best thing they did was find mold and some rotted wood, they had to rebuild my whole window sill and insulate due to prior owners now doing it. however they left the mold exposed to dry without taking precautions to contain all of it. My wife and I are very sensitive to mold spores and we are still feeling effects a week later. The price went up again for the window rebuild and they left another day after 2 hours and a coffee break to let it dry. They come in Wednesday, half hour late, and finish demo, rebuild of the window and prime to wall for tiles. However the wall didn't dry fast enough so they left again extending the time we are without our only shower. Before leaving they had an argument with my father-in-law about leaving a piece of board with a couple finishing nails on it saying that it was probably connected to the dry wall or something and would cause more damage. They ended up removing the board and leaving for the day but was extremely rude and unprofessional. Now were into Thursday, (an hour and a half late), and they start tiling and installing the window. With an entire days work (after being late) they only tiled half a small wall and installed each piece of the block window (and messed up one row of the 5 row window by not paying attention to detail and placing a big block in the position on that line as each of the other 4). Then they told me I now needed to buy more tile, grout and other pieces of equipment that I was never informed about prior to the job. They come in Friday morning to finish tiling and start the grout. They were there till after 5, putting in their first full day of the whole week. They finished tiling and then gouted. Upon completion of the project they weren't going to put my faucet head back on to the shower as they were trying to get me to buy more equipment and make me do it. They had no plans of sealing the grout to prevent mold calling it a "personal preference" and being very rude to my wife on the phone when she called to inquire about finished their job. They weren't going to clean the floor after dropping cement, grout and tracking snow and dirt throughout my house. When asked to clean up after themselves, Joe's "son-in-law" proclaimed to Joe "You aren't even going to clean up the floor?" Son-in-Law seemed very embarrassed by Joe and was not very animated after the job became a little difficult. Appearing that Joe wasn't happy about finishing the job and was complaining a lot. The tile job appear to be done very well but after looking closer it is very crooked. The attention to detail is just not there. On one side wall the tile goes out about an inch farther than the other, leaving a gap by the shower rod. The grout lines don't match in the corners and there is concrete and grout dust everywhere. Our tub is dirty and required lots of cleaning before it was usable. They almost ruined the whole project as the grout dust was all over the front of the tiles and our walls. If that didn't come off easily we were going to have to buy special tools/chemicals to remove them possibly going as far as needing to demo and try again. The $700 plus tiles job turned into a $1600 job with terrible customer service and terrible work ethic and they didn't even finish the job! We had to seal the grout ourselves to prevent mold.
