Lovely Lady Bugs Reviews (1)

Review: Lovely Lady Bugs is a local consignment business. I have few complaints about this local Business. Back in October, I had an appointment to drop off winter items. I showed up for the appointment and dropped off a bunch of clothing, boys, girls and toddler. The way this Company operates is they do not give you any kind of receipt but they will email you a list if you chose to. [redacted], who I later found out is the owner, told me she would take the infant sleep bed but she wanted me to put a battery in this item so the light would work. I also dropped of a [redacted] baby carrier at this same time. I went home and returned within a few days and dropped off the infant sleep bed after I replaced the battery. After about 3 months, what doesn't sell gets donated. You are emailed before any items are donated so that you can pick them up if you would like. I ended up clothing cashing out at the beginning of December and called in a few days to ask that whatever items were remaining remaining be pulled. When I picked up the items there was a lot of clothing missing that I never got paid for and specifically the Infant Sleep Bed and the Carrier were missing. When I called an asked about them I was told that the "Bed and Carrier were donated to a [redacted] because the bed smelled like mold and there was dog hair on the item". I was upset by this because all of the items were washed by me, kept downstairs away from my dog. [redacted] told me she has all the emails and she would send email to me. I am still waiting. [redacted] is a local charity and I called them to see if they still had these items. They did not and said that the consignment should have a receipts for whatever they donate. Maybe all the emails would provide justification and support to what I have been told by them. Also, my account balance was given to my daughter without my approval. My privacy was invaded and the owner didn't even apologize. This local Business acts like they can do whatever they want to their customers.Desired Settlement: Because the Infant sleep bed and the carrier are popular desired items, that were in excellent condition (or they would have not been taken by the Consignment Business to begin with) I would like to reimbursed for them. I would also like this Company to have to provide receipts to their consignors for items they take into their possession for resale, make sure that they update all information in their accounts, and not donate anything until they get consent.

Response:

Dear [redacted],I am writing this letter in response to the Revdex.com complaint ID #[redacted]. I am the owner of the Lovely Ladybugs consignment store in [redacted], PA. I have the following response to the complaint:The consignor, [redacted], came in to the store for her appointment on the evening of9/ll/2013. We ask that consignors bring freshly laundered clothing in two 18 gallon bins for their appointment. [redacted] brought 5-6 trash bags of items that were dirty and just thrown into the bags. We looked thru the bags and picked out possible items for consignment. She had a co-sleeper that was covered in dog hair, smelled of mold and needed batteries. We gave this item back to her and asked her to bring it back washed and with batteries. She brought it back a couple days later with batteries and said it was washed, yet it had dog hair on it and smelled musty and also of cigarette smoke. I was not in the store when she brought the co-sleeper back for review. When I did come to the store and looked at the co-sleeper I found it unacceptable to consign. We had an additional bag of unacceptable consignment items for [redacted] after our second review. This typically happens because upon the first review we may miss items that are missing buttons, stained, or don’t have a size. I e-mailed [redacted] on 9/21 and informed her that we had a bag of “no thank you’s” or unacceptable consignment items and to come pick them up by the end of September. Please see attachment #1.1 did not hear from [redacted] and therefore tried calling her at her phone number on file. The number I called was ###-###-####. I was told that [redacted] did not live at this number and they did not know who she was. Therefore, I sent another e-mail to [redacted] on 10/1. Please see attachment #2. I held onto her bag of no thank you’s as well as the co-sleeper until 10/7. When I did not hear back from her by 10/7,1 donated her items to [redacted] which is the local charity in [redacted], PA. We have limited storage space and need to clean out our storage area on a regular basis. In regards to a receipt of what items are consigned, we do this each time a consignor consigns with us. After we have completed the pricing of items an item list is e-mailed to the consignor. [redacted] had an item list e-mailed to her after her 9/11 appointment was priced. A copy of her item list is attached for review. Please see attachment #3. On the item list, the last column on the right is when the items expire. The consignor is responsible for noting the expiration date and letting us know that she wants the items back prior to the date. We do not send out a reminder that items expire, the initial item list has the date and this is noted in the consignor agreement. Please see attachment #4. This is the consignment agreement that [redacted] signed on 12/22/2011.I do not know of the incident when the account balance was given to her daughter. I bought the store in June and believe it happened prior to my purchase. I did ask one of my employees who thought she remembers her daughter asking Jeanne’s balance when she was in the store with [redacted] and not by herself. We do not believe that we can do whatever we want to customers and pride ourselves on customer satisfaction. Without my consignors/customers I would not have a business! In regards to the desired outcome of reimbursement for the infant bed sleeper and carrier we are not able to do that at this time. We provided [redacted] enough time to come pick up her items per the emails attached. The items were donated to [redacted] and we would gladly give her a tax receipt for the donations. The other outcome for us to provide receipts to our consignors for items taken into our possession for resale, this is already done and has been done prior to my purchase in June 2013.I hope the above clears up this matter. If you have further questions please feel free to contact me.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: Review: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because I am looking for the receipt of all items that Lovely Ladybugs took for consignment, a list of the items that were donated and receipts for these items from [redacted]. Who writes off the donations on their taxes? Should it be the Consignors or is it Lovely Ladybugs taking the deductions for all the items they claim to donate. I definitly feel that some of the clothes are also missing but the two specific items I would like compensation for are the Infant Sleep bed and the [redacted] baby carrier. [redacted] addressed and admitted she received the Infant Sleep bed but did not even address the [redacted] baby carrier in her response to the Revdex.com. She was dishonest about the condition of the Infant Sleep Bed, me being present when my balance was given to my daughter and the condition that the clothing was given to her. Every item was washed and folded prior to her receiving the items, therefore, they were not covered in dog hair or smelled of smoke or mold. I have never been treated with such disrespect when trying to do business. I tried to resolve this issue directly with her and when I called and asked about the missing items she threatened to call the police. This is when I decided that it was time to get some intervention since I was not getting any cooperation from [redacted]. In regards to her response, she mentioned attachment #4. This should have been a signed copy of the Consignment agreement. The attachment was not included and I would also like to see a copy that was signed by me. A new agreement should have been put into place and all personal information verified with me when when I took in items for Consignment in the fall of 2013. I never even knew there was a new owner until I was told by [redacted]. Thank you for your time again and hope there is a resolution forthcoming from Lovely Ladybugs.Regards,[redacted] v
