Review: I took my 2 cats into this vet to have one cat (older cat) declawed and (younger cat) declawed and fixed. I had been to this establishment once before and had no issues however this time the experience was horrible. I had both cats in boarding for close to 2 weeks due to the fact that they were booked up. I had purchased some new furniture and the younger cat was spraying urine and the older cat would claw up the furniture. This was my cause for putting the cats in boarding for close to 2 weeks to preserve my furniture while waiting on their surgery. I dropped the cats off at the establishment and they agreed to board both. They informed me at the time of dropping them off that one would be going into surgery on the 10th of October and the other would go into surgery the next week since they were booked up. I was informed due to their schedule they could not accomodate both cats at once. I agreed to this and placed them in boarding. I waited for their surgery date, I even went by to see the cats and paid $60 toward their boarding bill before their surgery had been performed. I wanted to make sure that I paid something on the bill to keep it down a bit. I came in and paid the $60.00 and they accepted the payment. I decided that I would not be keeping the younger cat and I had someone that wanted to take the cat. I called to Loveshop Vet on the morning of the 9th and spoke to someone at the clinic and told them not to do the youngest cat. I confirmed with her that no procedure except for boarding will be done and she even verified this with me that she understood. (I am able to provide a phone record that I did make this call to the office if need be). I called on the morning of the 12th to get a balance on the cats because I was going to get them out. The receptionist told me it would be $300+. I asked her why and she stated she had done the procedure on both cats. We are now in argument on this which brings me to this complaint. I feel this is not right.Desired Settlement: Love Shop is threatening to first of all bring charges on me for abandonment of my cat. At this point now that they have declawed my cat I am unable to give the cat to the person that was planning on keeping him outside. I have called all local shelters and no one will take the cat due to them being full. I believe I should not be responsible for the cost of the surgery (that she states will go on my credit) and I do not believe I should be held accountable for their trainee being wrong.

I am contacting you in regards to [redacted], whom you left in our care on September 27, 2013. In a conversation we had in our office on October 12, 2013, we discussed that you had called and asked for the surgery on [redacted] not to be done, but I told you that the procedures had already been done due to the fact that when animals board here are to receive treatment we go ahead and do the procedures instead of waiting to the last mintue. YOu explained that you did not have the money to pay for surgery but that you were prepared to pay boarding. I informaed you at that time that you would be responsible for the bill and that if you would pick the cat up and pay the boarding charges which you claimed you had the money for, that I would work with you on the surgical cost. I als told you that for every day on the surgical cost. I also told you that for every day that you left the cat here you were incurring charges. At the time you left the office the plan was for you to pick the cat up on Monday October 14, 2013 and pay for the boarding at that time. Our office has since tried to contact you by phone and have had no success in reaching you. We will give you until Saturday October 26, 2013 at 12 noon to contact us or we will refer the animal to Animal Control as an abandoned animal and proceed without attorney for collection of this account. I am sure that you will want to resolve this matter with our office. We look forward to hearing from you.
