Review: This landscape business advertised by flyer in the mail. I contracted with them in the Spring of 2015 to provide weekly service through the Summer and bi-weekly service in the off season. The service was spotty - on occasion he would not come due to rain and would charge the same price without service. He was belligerent when questioned about it and I just let it go. He also broke a sprinkler head and a window with a rock discharged from his mower on separate occasions. I never challenged him due to his demonstrated attitude in the past and to the fact he was significantly cheaper than other services. Also, I was unable to directly prove he had damaged my property. That is just the backdrop...This complaint is based upon his breach of contract when he refused to continue to provide service at the precise time when the Fall leaves began coming down. He blamed this on my paying late and, in his words, making him "beg" for payment. This notion would be laughable if his dropping us from service didn't put us in a very bad spot with our neighbors and our strict homeowner's association. Based upon Mr. [redacted] poor customer service and inadequate work quality, I can only conclude he dropped us because his business was overwhelmed with work during the Fall leaf season. We never missed a payment. Ever. Also, he sends invoices by email and, as I explained to him many times during the year, I don't read personal email everyday and I travel frequently. In fairness, he has sent reminders when I have been out of town, but I always paid promptly with an explanation. In short, however, he was been paid every month - the same month - for service. In fact, some weeks, he suspended his service if he sent a reminder and I paid in full anyway, despite his not providing service. The owner of this business is belligerent, abrasive, provided sub-standard service and as demonstrated at the conclusion of our business, is dishonest.Desired Settlement: I am establishing a record for any future potential customers' of Mr. [redacted], so they will know what they are in for if they hire him to provide landscape service. I have mitigated my damages by 1) speaking to the President of my homeowners association, 2) speaking to my neighbors, and 3) hiring a reputable company to provide yard service.Mr. [redacted] company is disreputable and I wish someone had left a record for me when I queried him prior to hiring him.
