I was a client for 2 years and they never got my hormone levels stabilized. The clinic advertises hormone replacement therapy. They advertise relief from menopause symptoms. Every time my blood was checked, the levels were drastically different from the previous tests which is why my symptoms never resolved. They charged me $150.00/month for 36 months and I never got the relief I was paying for. I finally ended my relationship with them and asked for a refund of $600 for the past 4 months of "treatment". They refused and told me "I am always disappointed when patients do not achieve the response that that hoped for from the treatment" as well as "It (hormone balance) can't be done. Its medicine" which tells me this is nothing new to them. They are offering services that they are unable to provide.

This is the only sort of a contract that was provided to me. They don't have anything in writing on their website regarding treating women.

To whom it may concern, ***s complaint truly caught me off guard. Until her cancellation and request for a refund she had given us no reason to think her treatment was going poorly. We are a non-contractual clinic. So if someone wants a month worth of treatment they pay for it and get. If someone wants a 4 month pellet treatment they pay for it and get. There is no obligation to continue after that point. For starters I would like to respond to her misquote -They refused and told me "I am always disappointed when patients do not achieve the response that that hoped for from the treatment" as well as "It (hormone balance) can't be done. Its medicine" While I actually said was: I am always disappointed when patients do not achieve the response that they hoped for from the treatment. The second half of that statement actually reads: So while I am saddened that this seems to escape your memory, please show me where we guaranteed a specific response. It can't be done. Its medicine! As I stated to *** , hormone balance is really a collaborative effort between doctor and patient. But because it is medicine there are no guaranteed responses. It would be misleading to say otherwise. Any doctor who says they can bring about a guaranteed level of response would be liar. And that is not what we do. I am sorry that she is not happy with the treatment she received. But this has not been the case with most of our patients. Please take a look at the the following links *** and ***. We have exactly (not counting ***) two poor reviews. And they are both patients that were dropped as clients because they were so rude to our staff. In reading *** review of us in *** it lead me to view all her reviews. If you check you will see that they are all 5 star or 1 star. There seems to be nothing in between with her. Again, and most importantly we are non-contractual. This means if she is receiving compounded cream hormones she can stop after any month. If she is getting pellets they are in 4 month periods. But either can be stopped after the conclusion of the treatment. She did both and continued until this point. Again, I am sorry for here dissatisfaction but she was able to stop at any point. Please let me know if there is anything else I can supply you with or questions that I can answer. I am always available to help with this process. Hopefully you will see from our *** and *** reviews, patient satisfaction is incredibly important to us. While we realize that hormone replacement is challenging and does not work for everyone we do strive to make the overall experience a positive one.If it is not a violation of her HIPPA rights I would be happy to show you all email correspondence between her and the clinic to demonstrate the prompt and caring service she always received from us. Just let me know

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:

This wasn’t my first complaint to them. I have complained to the medical providers in person and over the phone. Bo is the Office Manager. I have no reason to discuss my treatment with him. I have voiced my concerns about the treatment efficacy at every meeting I’ve had with the prescribing doctors. The last time I even asked if consistent relief of menopause symptoms was even possible. She assured me that it is possible and she would make adjustments to the prescription and that’s when she suggested I try hormone replacement pellets that are placed subcutaneously. As my lab results indicate, the medical staff at Low T have been unable to effectively regulate my hormone levels over a period of 3 years.

Bo made the following statements: “But because it is medicine there are no guaranteed responses. It would be misleading to say otherwise. Any doctor who says they can bring about a guaranteed level of response would be liar. And that is not what we do”. “But this has not been the case with most of our patients”.

Of course there are no guarantees in anything in life but when I go to my regular GP for treatment and she prescribes medication therapy for whatever the ailment is, there has always been a very clear conversation about what the treatment expectations are. I can say that 100% of the time the medication prescribed by my primary care doctor had the effect that was expected and discussed and there were no disappointing surprises.

When I first sought help at Low-T 99 the expectation was that the prescribed treatment would achieve consistency in my hormone levels. That was the service I was paying for. That expectation was never met. I think it is deceptive they have not put it in writing or verbally conveyed that desired results may not be attainable instead of continuing to string me along with the idea that they can hit hormone levels that are within or very close to a “normal” range if they just keep tweaking the prescription. I believe they do this purposely to continue collecting money for as long as they can get away with. It is unethical.

This clinic’s client base is mostly men from what I can glean from the Yelp and Google reviews. Clearly women require a different level of expertise in achieving hormonal balance because there are multiple hormones administered vs. solely testosterone. Perhaps they lack practitioners that are skilled in treating women. If that is the case, then it should be made known in the initial conversations.

My issue was never about feeling bound to a contractual agreement. I take issue with the deceptive practice of leading me to believe that normal levels of hormone replacement were achievable. The implied assertion is that the medical staff at your clinic is able to figure out how to administer the correct hormone dosages that would bring my levels within a normal range and reflect that in the blood work. That is what you are selling but you are not delivering the services you are advertising or what you charged me for.

That is why I filed complaints with the Revdex.com and the Attorney General’s office. I want to see more oversight of these clinics and I am requesting a minimum of $600.00 refund for the past 4 months of pellet therapy.

Sincerely
