Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]I dont know what else to say.  He gave me his insurance papers the next day cause he said he was in the neighborhood.  These documents were not used to secure my building permit. Again, I asked for nothing, paid for nothing, signed nothing and received nothing.  Pretty cut and dry to me!!

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]Lowell's responce was not truthfull at all.  I never requested their lic and insurance documents nor did I file them with the town inorder to secure my building permit. Rather Lowell returned the next day and furnished them.  Lowell made no measurments of the building or electrical service inorder to fabricate any duct work.  I asked for nothing, I paid for nothing and I received nothing.  I have only seen the man for twenty min for the original estimate and for ninty seconds when he stopped by to drop off his paperwork.  The last thing I said was Ill let you know my decision soon.

Dear [redacted],I believe our response on January **, 2015 speaks for itself. [redacted] is a contractor just like we are. He did direct us that we had the job. He did ask for our liability insurance and town license information. We then proceeded fabrication and design work for his project at [redacted], Southampton. The issue that I see right now is that [redacted] does not want to pay the invoice for our services or bare the responsibility. Also please note for all correspondence [redacted] had with Lowell Mechanical he met with my partner [redacted], not me. Upon your request we can forward a copy of our dated insurance certificates. Where does the Revdex.com stand to protect us as contractors?Very Truly,[redacted]

We received a phone call from [redacted] on February **, 2014 requesting a HVAC estimate for a project at [redacted]. On February **, 2014 a site meeting with [redacted] to review the job was performed. Lowell Mechanical than forwarded a proposal for a 2-zone...

central heating and air conditioning system. On April [redacted] (12:30pm) [redacted] called our office and informed Lowell Mechanical that we were awarded the job. [redacted] requested our Southampton license and certificate of liability. [redacted] stated that he wanted to file Lowell Mechanical paperwork to acquire his building permit. Lowell Mechanical then notified our insurance company for certificate of liability made out to [redacted]. per [redacted]'s request. We put the documents together with our HVAC license and certificate of liability. Lowell Mechanical hand delivered documents to [redacted] on the same day as he requested. Lowell Mechanical drafted mechanical drawings and fabricated sheet metal plenums and assorted fittings for the job. On July **, 2014 Lowell Mechanical drove past [redacted] and saw another HVAC company truck in the driveway. Lowell Mechanical called [redacted] on this day and he told us he gave the job to another company. We were never informed that we were no longer the HVAC contractor for [redacted]. On August *, 2014 our office forward an invoice for services rendered. On or about August **, 2014 [redacted] called our office to question the invoice and informed Lowell Mechanical that he was not going to pay for our services. On September *, 2014 Lowell mechanical filed a mechanics lien. Desired settlement: Lowell Mechanical Inc. request full payment.

Review: I asked Lowell Mechanical to give me an estimate on a project I was doing. He ([redacted] of Lowell Mechanical) came and gave the estimate. The next day he showed up, uninvited, and provided to me his insurance and License information. I told him I would get back to him in a week or two because I still have other HVAC contractors to speak with. Maybe three months later I hired an HVAC company. They came and did the job, and when they were almost finished (now almost four months later)I received a call from [redacted]. He wanted to know why another HVAC company was there doing the HVAC job. I explained I was more comfortable with them and that their price was better. He wanted to know why I didnt give him the opportunity to rebid the job. I said I didnt know I had to, I asked for your best price and thought I had gotten it. I didnt think it was necessary for me to get into a bidding war, between the different contractors. Well next thing I know he, [redacted] of Lowell, starts sending me bills, so I call him to ask why, a bill for what?? He says he not only gave me the free estimate but he worked up a design for the HVAC at this property. I explained I didnt ask you to do that, I signed no contract, gave no deposit, so why would you think you have the job, why would you do any work without my permission or consent? He explained it would have been nice on my part to call him and give him the heads up that I was considering another HVAC company. Well next thing I know he files a Mechanic's Lien against my property. Apparently in Suffolk County you need no proof of damage in order to obtain this lien. Just file the needed paperwork in the prescribed time frame and its done. Now I have to hire a lawyer and get a date in Supreme Court, yea Supreme court!! Like they dont have enough to do, they need this nonsense.Desired Settlement: I would like the 1800.00 Mechanic's Lien dropped or a settlement of 1800.00 dollars so when I sell the property I can send him his 1800.00 check. I would like the Revdex.com to look into how he was able to file a lien with no corroborating evidence and warn other consumers that the free estimate from this guy is not so free.
