Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:You haven't addressed the issue of a $275 charge billed two months after the ultrasound procedure was billed and paid for.  The first bill charged $275 for surgical trays and I called and spoke to both the woman in [redacted]'s office and in the billing office of NYU.  I specified that I didn't have a surgical procedure and what exactly was this charge for.  The woman in [redacted]'s office said she did not bill for this.  I was billed $600 for the ultrasound and paid $446 after insurance.  Two months later I received another bill for $275 but now the charge was for supplies and equipment.  I again called both [redacted]'s office and NYU.  The woman in [redacted]'s office said she would speak to NYU and handle this for me.  Over a year after the procedure I received another bill for $275 for supplies and equipment and spoke to an extremely irate man in the billing office at NYU.  Never once were these charges broken out.  Of course the bill went quickly to a collections company and when I asked the woman at that company for an itemized list of these supplies and equipment she said she would sent them. I never received them.  I paid the $275 because I didn't want the charge to effect my credit rating but never did NYU say what the charges were for.  I had an ultrasound of my legs.  It required the machine, the tech woman, a paper sheet and the lubricating jelly.  What exactly cost $275 in addition to the $600 charge for the procedure?  This is the problem with places like NYU.  They make these charges and don't itemize them and that is because, according to United Healthcare, my insurance company, NYU has a contract with them allowing them to make charges like this whether you actually use the items or not.  Provide me with an itemized bill of the $600 and the $275.  This should have been done several times when I requested it several times.
Regards,
[redacted]
