My experience about The after school program at YMCA.
The staff at the after school programs are not educated / trained / to handle special needs children. Also, the student / staff ratio should be increased to better support special needs children.
ALL staff should be required to know how to handle all behaviors and needs of special children.
I would recommend that the YMCA train their staff in order to handle special needs children.

Review: The Childcare director and management did not uphold the signed agreement. They expelled my 2 year old son from their daycare without following any of the steps from the signed childcare agreement and after addressing the issue the Director and CEO acknowledged the supervisor and teacher did not follow any of the rules and processes stated in their agreement and promised they would immediately improve their staff's follow through policy and process but only to be left with the same supervisor and the same situation that originally tried to expel my son to continue to trying to inconvenience my son's schooling with no change in process and then and still expel my son 2 weeks later and to be told by the teacher of the class she was told she could kick our son out without any hesitation from the supervisor after we requested a daily update that was suppose to be filled out for every student daily wasn't filled out for a week. After they stated they had. We were lied to, deceived and when asked for a refund because of the service not given and the way we were treated as customers of this buisness and the fact none of them did their job in improving the situation or services rendered after acknowledging they didn't do it to begin with. and having to leave work to pick up my child and stay home because they expelled him out of the program without any notice and the contact from upper management and was nonexistent unreturned voicemail and when calling they are "out to lunch or in a meeting" after 3 weeks shows no help in getting any issues resolvedDesired Settlement: I would like a full refund for the amount paid for services not rendered. $620.00

The Lower Bucks Family YMCA endeavors to provide quality care and education for every student enrolled. In some cases, that means making special accommodations for a child. When it becomes apparent that a child is not doing well in a room, then we have a conference with the parent/family to determine the next step. In this particular case we decided during a conference with the mother that one-on-one care with a teacher and the assistant director was indicated. It is unfortunate that one on one care did not work. It is our responsibility to ensure that all the children in our care are provided a safe environment. We do acknowledge that every environment is not suitable for every child and in some cases changing the environment will help the situation.
