Review: I [redacted] things at this business all the time and always before they sale item they always sende notice ,but the last time I did business with them they change ticket color I never paid it no mind but I came 30 days late and they soldy item with out noticeDesired Settlement: I want my item or replacement

I am writing a grievance about the business practices of Lowill’s Jewelers. Company’s proprietor and staff provide consumers with vague and inaccurate information regarding merchandise held when pawned. When this writer contacted the proprietor on 8-1-2013 to inquire about status of account. Female proprietor and male staff informed writer that merchandise had been sold. Writer was shocked. When writer inquired about reason, writer was informed that account was in default. However, according to conversation with proprietor, when writer had renewed agreement on 11/11/12 writer was given information that he had a 6 months grace period of 2/10/2013 prior to the selling of merchandise. When writer spoke with proprietor, she indicated that it was a 3 months grace period instead, not 6 months. Writer inquired as to whether or not consumers are informed via mail or telephone call about pending defaults, staff person indicated that they mail consumers. Writer informed staff that he never under any circumstances received any correspondence from this business to apprise him of forthcoming 3 month expiration date. Staff offered no reasonable excuse other than informing writer merchandise was sold. Writer inquired what else might be done, writer was told that nothing could be done. Writer’s merchandise was sold with no alerting him. Documentation agreement is vague and misleading to consumers and left to the interpretation of the proprietor. Consumers are taken advantage of and consumer merchandise is stolen and sold. Company's business practices are unethical, not sound, and left open for interpretation and places the consumer at a disadvantage.Desired Settlement: Request Cash Refund $500.00 because merchandise has been sold without informing customer.
