This is our side of the story:
The customer, *** ***, came to our shop looking for a cheap tireHe didn't care what brand it was and that it needed to be a specific size and cheap
We showed him the tire that he purchasedThis tire had been previously mounted and taken
off another wheel because it was the wrong tire for the motorcycle it was going onSince it had been mounted, it could not be sold as a new tireAll this was explained to the customer
Retail price for that tire is $and we sold it to him for $50.00, as is, with no warrantyHe purchased the tire and then took it to another shop to be mounted
He had the tire for weeks and then decides he doesn't want it anymore and that the tire was old and dry rottedHe asked for his money backIt was once again explained to him the tire was sold, as is, for a very low priceWe declined to refund his money, but offered to credit the $toward a new tire that would match the front tire on his bikeA new tire that is correct for the bike is

He claims that he can buy the tire from *** *** (a motorcycle parts supplier) for $with free shippingThe *** *** website states that that brand of tire has a price starting at $However, the tire the customer needs is priced at $176.98, which is similar to what we quoted himHe would also have to have the tire mounted and balanced at additional cost
So in conclusion, we feel our offer was more than fair and he would be better off financially to have ordered another tire through us and get his $credit back
Please note that he was the one that selected the tire without any consultation with anyone at our shop that could have directed him to the proper tire for his motorcycleI think he had the impression that a tire is just a tire, one size fits all
