The person who made this complaint was NOT the owner of the car. He never showed ownership he had a title that was not in his name. By state law we can not release it to him. On the data of  we was called out for a car in the pond when IFP show up they did not want us to pull the...

car out they need a bigger truck to lift it out. So I had to call a different towing compete out. They sent me a bill for $300.00 dollars I paid it. So now I am out $300.00 plus $120.00 that I had to pay my guy for going out there. Then he came back to the lot two days later and told us he needs the battery out of it. He wood never show ownership of the car. So they told him no.        After 72 hr  by state law you have to send the owner a letter to let them know that there car is here and it was not him. I have Indiana Lien do all my lien process. I will attach it for you .So the car was here for 30 days and it was sold on the auction date for $100.00 dollars.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I contacted your business several days after the accident to find out what the next steps were, I was given no in additional information about your fee schedule. The lien letter that I received came several weeks after the accident when fees had already accrued. Both times that I spoke to someone over the phone, they were rude and unhelpful and did not volunteer any information. Again, I was later told that it was my fault for not asking the right questions, and since I've never been in that situation before, I didn't know to ask about the fee schedule or the cost of services. I have already removed my car from your promises and paid the total amount do, which was more than my car was worth it was an incredible hardship to my family. I have documented a copy of the lien letter as well as the date stamp on the envelope of when it was mailed. I am more than happy to submit this file to you at my earliest convenience. I don't expect any further action from you, but I am extremely angry and disappointed in the service that I received from your company.  I have filed a complaint with the attorney general consumer protection office, and they may be in touch with you soon as well.

vehicle, as we tow many vehicles for several police agencies. However, I would like to say that we never ask customers for a copy of their accident report (as this usually takes 7-10 business days before the report is available). In order for us to notify the owner of any vehicle towed to our location we must file a lien through an outside source (Indiana Lien). We do this procedure after a vehicle is here more than 72 hours. This service informs the registered owner that their vehicle has been towed to our facility. It also clearly states the initial amount of the tow service along with the daily storage fee, a sale date (with the amount owed at time of sale) and an Administration Fee ($85.00). This is not a bill or judgement against the owner. It is simply a notification letter. There are times when vehicles are towed without the owner’s knowledge (for whatever reason). This service is necessary to avoid any confusion as to when a vehicle was towed and the amount of our services. The Indiana Lien notification letter lists an amount that is due if vehicle is left on our premises until the date of sale (which is usually about 45 days after the vehicle arrived on our lot). In most cases, when the owners insurance company will not cover the cost the owner determines how he/she will pursue the situation, whether that be paying out of pocket for our services or signing the title to vehicle over to our company (allowing us to recover part of the cost of towing, clean up fees, storage fees,  ect.) In past experiences, once a customer is informed that the insurance company is not going to cover the fees, the owner will call or come in to our office and we then discuss their options as to handling the situation. We do not contact customers via phone, email, ect. (as we do not have this information). Costumers are notified by Indiana Lien through the mail at the registered owner’s address that is on file with the BMV. We have no other way to contact the owner of a vehicle. Again, this is done 72 hours after the vehicle initially arrived at our location. All fees are clearly stated in this document as is our company name, address and phone number.  It is the owner’s responsibility to contact us with any further questions or concerns they may have regarding his/her vehicle. In closing, I’d like to add that Lawrence Towing has been in business for over 20 years. We pride ourselves in excellent customer service.  Understandably,   there are times when our customers are unhappy and just don’t know what to do.  It is our job to be helpful and informative.  We were sorry to hear about a less than great customer experience. We will be addressing the customer service concerns in this complaint with all of our employees in hopes of rectifying the matter at hand.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint.  I have receipts that show proof of purchase of the vehicle and the previous owner that they contacted also referred them to me as well,  siding to them that the car is not hers!  I have spoken to the previous owner and she has told me that herself.  Not to mention I came to the office six hours after it was towed and explained this to them.  Lawrence towing simply wants to circumvent me for no reason at all when in fact they could've kept the car and got full payment for their tow by my insurance company and I could've from the insurance company the value that was determined.  Lawrence towing is a lying, cheating, dishonest company and they know good and well that the car is mine as I have receipts for proof of purchase of it.
