I took my car to this place to fix and repair the lick on the roof.
I paid $1256
I got the car back, and it’s still licking the same exact spots. I went back and talked to the manager and he offered me to go back and pay other 8 or 9 hours of labor which is $129 per hour to fix it again.....
Really???
Why should I pay for it since I’ve already paid?
He responded to me that they’re willing to give me discount if I get the car back to them but they can’t do it for free,
My question here’s what does free mean to you guys since I already have paid $1256 for not fixing the issue? That doesn’t sound free to me at all.
They explained that they had done something on the car which I do not care what they did, all I care about is that: I wanted the lick issue to be fixed and it’s not. That’s all.
Otherwise I’m not out of my mind to take my car somewhere to pay $1256 and get my car back with the same exact problem.

The current issue with the vehicle isn’t associated with the work that we did. It is a separate problem that we can address.
This vehicle was brought into us with significant water damage. We were called by the shop across the street to help with the problem. The extent of the water in the vehicle lead to the battery (which is in the back seat under the floorboard) floating in water. In addition to that the sunroof was stuck in the open position and no longer operable. This year, make, and model of vehicle has a history of issues with the sunroof leaking due to the drain tubes being clogged. A simple *** search with 2008 Buick Enclave sunroof leak will show all the problems reported about this vehicle. Once they are clogged the water will fill the sunroof cap and pour over the sides. The resolution to the problem is to clear the drains. To clear the drains, the windshield needs to be removed. Once the windshield is removed there is a knuckle at the end of the drain tubes with a crosshatch that needs to be removed that create a blockage. After the knuckle is removed the tubes need to be scoped. The recall for this was eligible for one year through the dealership which made this vehicle ineligible.

Our goal is to resolve the problem with the lowest expense for the customer out of pocket and advise the customer to keep an eye on it to ensure it is resolved. We test each vehicle after the work is complete to assure that we resolved the problem we worked on. As outlined in our attached invoice we did the following to resolve this problem. Replaced the windshield because there were some chips in it and we confirmed with the servicing garage to do that (removal was required to access drains), items 1-3. Replaced the sunroof motor because it was seized due to moisture exposure, item 4. Troubleshooting and diagnostics to confirm the drains were clogged and move, adjust, and access the sunroof motor to test for failure, this also includes the labor for motor removal and installation included in line 5. Cleared and scoped both sunroof drains, removed crosshatch, confirmed tube routing, and reinstalled, line 6.

The current issue is that the cap of the sunroof is leaking where the PVC is riveted to the aluminum from the factory. This is a factory defect and needs to be addressed by removing the headliner (this wasn’t required for the work we did), removing the entire sunroof assembly, drilling out and separating the sunroof cap at the area that the water is leaking, resealing and bonding the PVC back to the aluminum, re riveting, and reinstalling sunroof, headliner, and all components. The labor involved in this job is significant and typically requires 8-12 hours and is billed at a rate of $85 per as indicated in the invoice.

When the customer returned to our shop to discuss the current problem she told me that the water coming in was significantly less because of the work that had been done to this point.

We always want to help our customers find resolution and are happy to help with this. This is in addition to the work that we’ve already done to the vehicle. I am willing to help by offering 2 free hours of labor to help resolve this moving forward. Please be aware that we are trying to resolve defects that came from the manufacturer and are simply trying to correct problems that the manufacturer doesn’t want to take responsibility for.
