Ludwig Productions Reviews (3)

If I could describe how horrible Eric Ludwig is as a human being and business professional, I would. I'll give you the facts,

1. He filmed interview videos of our friends and family put it together had it done before the wedding, sent it to our DJ. At this point everything is fine.

2. Filmed the wedding. Everything is still fine.

3. This is about the point things start to turn, it has been a couple weeks we haven't heard anything from him about how the editing is going, he doesn't give us an estimate date when he thinks it will be done. A simple ill let you know, in mean time over the course of 2 months I keep in contact asking him how its going and if he has any ETA of it being finished. About early April I ask him again and this time he asked, "Who I was". At this point as a customer I'm feeling uneasy, needless to say, out of explanation we move past that.

4. He finally gets back to mean on an update about the video, Ill check. LOL Really? Like he doesn't even do the work himself, he outsourced it. Here is my question rhetorical how the heck does a person who wasn't at the event, never met "us" the couple, supposed to put together a wedding video. I know the answer to that.

5. He commits to a deadline, good lord there is a light at the end of the tunnel, tells us we would have it at the end of April. (Not) The video came out too short and they would need to go back and lengthen it, (refer to point 4) (that person editing it didn't know). Another week or so go by, we can we get a hard delivery date? "He responds with I don't have a certain date in mind but we are in the home stretch. At this point I'm rapidly loosing confidence in him. Week goes by he gets us a download link, and I take it like a dog with a bone I download and run like no other thinking this is as good as it gets. We watch the video together and the "featurette" just cuts off? He fixed it and the highlight video, is about 5 or so second clips taken out of the featurette. So I don't know why he would make that a selling point if it weren’t going to be any different. (Thumbs down for sure)

6. We got the video, and it’s the best of his ability I guess, im not satisfied, im not blown away, but I got a video.

7. Here is where it really hits the fan, I amazon him a hard drive for the raw footage, he gets to him in a week. He says he has to go out of town. Ok I understand people got plans, no problem. I ask simply when can he do it. He said Monday magic words, gave a deadline. Monday comes and goes he said he send it Friday, Friday comes in goes. At this point which is currently the week of Memorial Day. He sent Tuesday so he claimed, at this point, I really don’t believe him, Why should I? Well guess what he didn’t it shipped Wednesday, (he said sorry it took him so long). I replied with “its really unacceptable that he couldn’t have told me that Monday” His response to me was “ you never miss an opportunity to complain. Enjoy the films” (I am furious) He still can’t give me any assurance that he shipped it by providing a tracking number. My only logical move I had left, check PayPal to find out when I paid him, I was still inside of the 180 days so I dispute the charge to PayPal.

(After I disputed the charge he flipped his lid, like I had no just cause, many texts go by inappropriate and how he has no respect for me and I asked him is this how he treats his customers, and he said I have been a horn and he want me out of his life.) With that comment I thought what if he just threw what ever he wanted on it and mailed, it to me to shut me up?

Lastly, I got the drive Tuesday after Memorial Day, checked it made sure there was video on it. Told him to send me a list of all video files so I could check it against what I had on the hard drive, (he loose it again, why do I have to get you a list, its all there, blah, blah and many more comments.) Why like any logical person I don’t believe an f-ing thing he says. Gets me the list after numerous texts, of his complaining.

My advice take it or leave it, don’t hire him. You are money to him and he doesn’t care about you or doing a good job. Soon as you pay him he doesn’t care. By the way his agreement forces you to pay him all upfront, so huge risk for you not him. Poorly ran business, poor person, poor video; only upside is at least I got the raw footage to have someone else remake it for my wife and me. Hire a real company not this joker.

Not worth $2060 at all

And you need to by and pay him $100 for raw footage and supply him with your own (flash, hard drive)

This was the husband.

I uploaded the wedding film so the clients could review the film prior to creating and shipping DVD's.  I explained that there was some RF interference during the vows that couldn't be helped.  RF interference is like an act of nature and can happen suddenly without warning.  RF...

interference is wireless interference; it's static noise.  I used the wireless mic because it was my best and only option.  I even tested the audio prior to the ceremony and during the ceremony.  It sounded fine when I checked it.  The RF interference flared up during the vows and the static was recorded into the recording.  She was so upset with me about it that she seemed to not want her DVD's.  I told her that I needed to know if she wanted to try to re-record something for that portion of the film.  Even if it's not word for word it would be the same sentiment.  Otherwise I would need to leave it as is or remove the vows entirely from the film.  She never told me what to do even after I indicated that I needed an answer in order to create the DVD's.  With no answer I assumed she didn't want them.  Now with this negative review, this is the first I'm hearing about her desire to have the DVD's.  I don't feel it's right to expect a full refund AND the DVD's when the only thing I could have done better was to finish the editing sooner.  I was only one week past the contracted delivery time when I uploaded it for her to preview.  Other than that there is the fact that the vows were difficult to hear and inaudible at times but I don't think it's fair to hold someone accountable for that type of problem.  It was completely out of my control.  It's like blaming me if it rained.  It was my only real option for capturing the audio because of the waterfall noise and there was no audio amplification for the cameras to hear what was being said.  I used my only option and as a professional that is what we do.  We assess the situation and use the equipment that will be the best option or options.

Eric L[redacted] Video Productions did not fulfill the contract we had with him. The “two HD cameras” were not HD, instead they were just standard definition and very blurry for many moments of our videos. Eric L[redacted] started shooting the video late for our first event, roughly 1 hour late after we explained to him several times when he needed to begin and the contract clearly stated the correct start time, which he didn’t fulfill either. The second event, he also started an hour late and missed several key moments. The correct time was also clearly stated on the contract, which L[redacted] failed again to fulfill.

L[redacted] video productions also did not fulfill the contract when the agreement was made that at least one of two videographers always be present and able to shoot the events during times that one of two need to take a break to eat and/or use the restroom.

L[redacted] video productions did not fulfill the contract when the contract states the final video product is to be delivered to the clients within 12 weeks (3 months) after the completion of our events, instead it was over one full calendar year after completion of our events.
