Dear Ms [redacted] :This letter is in reference to [redacted] ***’s complaint # [redacted] .Mr [redacted] contacted me via telephone in DecemberAt that time I was hospitalized.Upon my release from the hospital, Mr [redacted] had already filed his complaint with the Revdex.com.I called Mr [redacted] and asked why he had filed against meHe said: “I didn’t hear back from you.” I said: “Did you ever think I may have been on vacation or in the hospital?” I then explained that I had, in fact, been in the hospital and was not checking any messages and that’s why I did not respond to his callI explained that I was willing to come right away to address his concernsMr [redacted] apologized and said: “I’ll call the Revdex.com today, (February 5, 2016), and I will cancel the complaint.” I responded that that would be okay and that I would be at his residence on Monday, February 8, to check out the problem.Unfortunately, Mr [redacted] did not follow through to cancel this complaintI went to his residence on Monday, February 8, 2016, as promised, to check out the problem and discovered that the problem had nothing to do with any work I had previously completedWhat I did find was that there were cracks and splits in Mr***’s old shingles where it caused water to enter the house.Even though, this was not my problem, I repaired the area at my own expenseWe’ve had plenty of rain and snow since the 8th of February and Mr [redacted] has not called me in regard to the original problem or any other problem. As far as I’m concerned the problem has been addressed satisfactorily and resolved to the customer’s satisfactionThis should close your file on this matter.Cordially,Ronald P***, Owner PENN ROOFING

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID***,and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear belowThe response that I have received from Penn Roofing achieved nothing to resolve my issue with their workIn fact it presents even more issues with the ethics that they conduct business under. After speaking with Ronald P*** on the phone on February 5, 2016, I did tell him that I would log into the complaint and add that I had spoken with him and he had finally returned my callAfter logging into the complaint, I had found that I could not make any additional entries until the business had responded.Ronald and his assistant did show up on February 8, to take a look at the problemAfter approximately minutes of climbing on the roof, they came to my door and stated that some shingles had lifted up and he had put some tar patching compound on the shingles. In Mr***'s previous response to this complaint, he stated "the problem had nothing to do with any work I had previously completed." This is the precise statement that leads to me having issues with the way Ronald Penar does business.MrP*** stated "I repaired the area at my own expense." After he left, I went on the roof to examine what he had done so quickly to remedy the issue.I have attached photographs of the areas on my roof that were patched with tar on February 8, As you can see, the darker areas between the shingles have been patched in order to repair the leaks that exist due to negligence during the original workI was quoted for work that would repair water intrusion that was identified to be coming in from the valleys on either side of the dormerThe lighter colored shingles in the photo are the shingles that Penn Roofing installed, the darker colored shingles were existingThe patching compound was applied directly to where the new and old shingles join, clearly showing that the scope of work originally conducted by MrP*** was not sufficient to repair the problemFurther, the existing shingles adjacent to the shingles installed by Penn Roofing had to be lifted during the repair, causing the damage that led to the recent water intrusion problems I have been experiencing.Since the time of this complaint being issued, I have also come to discover that HIC # PAprovided on the quote receipt I received from MrP*** shows that Penn Roofing's registration under the Home Improvement Consumer Protection Act has lapsed on 07/01/Once again, a testament to how MrP*** conducts business.Regards, *** ***
