This is to confirm the package that contains a broken flashlight was received quite some time ago Kindly understand it takes time to go through the old record in our system to identify the case Although the end consumer customer is qualified for the warranty by
providing proof of purchase in the package, unfortunately, the cause for the damaged flashlight doesn't cover by our warranty As per our warranty, it doesn't apply to battery leak by accident, misuseor abuse
In the letter provided by the customer, the damage of the flashlight is due to battery leak caused by the original battery purchased 10-years ago A heavy duty battery usually has 3-years shelf life and I am not surprised about the incident Furthermore, the end consumer admitted the chrome reflector has been damaged due to an attempt on getting rid of the acid leaked from the battery In addition, the customer also tried to spray paint the reflector We consider the flashlight has been misused and altered At the end of the letter, the customer considers the leakage of the battery is due to defective, which doesn't make any common sense In a conclusion, Lumilite will not offer warranty to any replacement to a damaged flashlight that caused by battery leak, as end consumer has the responsibility and common sense on maintaining a battery powered device by checking the battery annually
We are a responsible manufacturer and we honour the quality of our product but certainly not in this case due to battery leak As per our internal note, either my colleague or me had stated this point to the end consumer on the phone I wish the end consumer would understand providing us a damaged flashlight doesn't guarantee a free replacement only if the flashlight is proved to be defective
Lumilite USA is a small office with very limited manpower, it is for us missing phone calls or emails from end consumers However, the end consumer should at least try contacting us by sending email or follletter in order to get this case solved instead of going through the 3rd party
I appreciate the patience and time Revdex.com has spent on this case and I'll contact the management to see if there is a solution offer to the end consumer shortly.
