1875 Pro V cleats
I bought a brand new Lund 1875 Pro V in 2013. I noticed some rattling in the back cleats this past weekend, so I opened the access covers on each side and the nuts were loose on both sides, there were two washers and a nut on each bolt on one side, but on the other side there was only washers on one of the bolts So I contacted the dealer and the customer service at the factory and both places said I would need to buy the entire kit for the cleat even though nothing was wrong except the washers were missing and neither the dealer Rays Sport and Marine from Perham or the Lund Boat Company were willing to take care of a customer who purchased a new boat for over $50,000. I had never had the access cover open prior to this, so I am assuming the one cleat never had the two washers it was supposed to have. These specialty washers are not available on any after market site I have been on, only the entire kit at a cost of $60 plus shipping. I can't believe that the dealership nor Lund is willing to take care of a new boat consumer. I have also been doing my winterization at the same dealership. I don't plan on doing any business in the future with either establishment and I will definitely relay my experience with other boat owners. Totally disgusted with the customer service.

I am rejecting this response because:The response from Lund does not even answer the problems that I presentedthe Lund response is a "canned" response from one of their secretaries I originally contacted my dealer -Abernathys in Union City, TN about the problem They contacted Bryan Nedlind, their Lund rep, about my problem with the locks on the compartments that do not work The Lund boats on Abernathy's showroom floor exhibit the same faulty locks as what I have Bryan from Lund offered no solution and stated that most of the Lund locks do not workSo Lunds solution of replacing the locks with other Lund locks will not solve the problem that I have My dealer said that they would be happy to replace the faulty locks but that the replacement locks from Lund would also be faultyThere is an easy and inexpensive way to fix these locks and I would be happy to discuss this with Lund if they want to contact meI would just like to have a lock that works Other than the lock, we are very pleased with the Lund product

I am rejecting this response because:
Can I work with you through email and get something in writing discussing the replacement? Otherwise it sounds like we are on the right track. my email is ***[email protected]

I have contacted the dealer to get a better explanation of what you are experiencing and also what was communicated by the dealership and by Brian [redacted]. The latch mechanism does lock and will not open when in the locked position under a normal situation. However if excessive force is used to pull up on the latch, the tab that hold the lock in place can be broken and the compartment can then be accessed. Under normal use the lock does latch. What was relayed to the consumer in this conversation was that nothing is unbreakable and there is always a way to break in to anything. There are aftermarket locks and alarm systems that can be purchased to make the boat more secure, but the basic functionality of the lock does work the way it is. I have called and left the customer a message and would be more than happy to discuss what he is doing to make his items more secure. As a mfg we are always looking at ways to improve our products and designs. I have left him my direct number to be able to reach me.

Yes, we can discuss via email. My email address is [redacted]. My direct phone number is ###-###-####.

We do not offer locking compartments for every compartment in the boat. For the compartments that are locking they are functional and if they need to be adjusted or replaced the customer would need to contact the dealership he purchased the boat from to handle the warranty work. The locking...

mechanisms are covered under the 3 year warranty.

I am sorry that you have had this experience with your warranty request. What dealership are you working with? We do not handle any warranty direct thru Lund, everything is handled thru our dealer network. Please provide the hull number of the boat and I will be more than happy to look into...

this. Thank you,Jesse
