Lung Allergy Sleeping Disorder

We certainly understand the patients (*** ***) frustration at being charged for two different sleep studies and realize that she may need more information regarding the guidelines of having a sleep study preformed. Patient (*** ***) was referred to our office by her primary physician
Dr *** at patients request to have a sleep study (PSG) preformed as her last sleep study was more than years ago; she required a new sleep study in order to get new equipment. As per AAST (American Association of Sleep Technologists) A split-night titration is indicated for patients who are diagnosed with severe OSA, which is defined as an AHI (Apnea/Hyponea index) of at least documented events during a minimum of two (2) hours of sleep during the diagnostic portion of the studyWe have attached copies of the AAST guidelinesThis patient slept poorly during the first couple of hours of sleep during her first sleep study 12/19/therefore a split night study could not be preformedHer sleep was fragmented and she didn't meet AAST criteria for titration the same night therefore technologist ran the study as a full night PSG, which required her to come back in for a titration study which was done 2/4/17.Further more the patient didn't express any concerns the night of either studyShe signed all consent forms in regards to financial responsibility during both studies without any complaintsWe have attached copies from both studiesThe first time we heard anything from the patient was when she received her billAt that time our office manager along with our billing staff explained in detail why each study was preformed according to AAST guidelinesAt the time of service our technologist along with our scheduling staff explains to the patient why sleep studies are needed and explains all proceduresWe feel we have done our due diligence in this case and have not treated this patient any differently then we would have any other patient that is referred to our office that meets the same criteriaWe appreciate you bring this to our notice and we will do everything that we can to resolve this issuePlease lt us know if we can answer any other questions or concerns you may have

I am rejecting this response because:     I was never informed that it was two different charges when each night they did the very same thing. If  I had been told that it was two sepearte charges I would not have had it done. Because I can not afford to pay so many Dr [redacted]. So therefore I do not accept their explanation.
