Luxor Livery sales of Long Island City Reviews (2)

Review: My dad were just in the dealership and trying to purchase a vehicle from them. My dad specifically told the salesman and everyone else that he cannot come up with 4 grands down. My dad had $2000 cash in his pocket and a trade vehicle that were worth about $1500. Its a 1999 BMW 528i. Even though my dad english is not perfect but he understand when other speak. The salesman told my dad that it is fine that he can put whatever he has but apparently the bank want $4000. So my dad agreed to the $4000 but as long as its not more than that. So after going through all the process here and there, signing all the paperwork and yet my dad still couldnt take the delivery of the car, he was told he need it to be registered for taxi license and all and so he spent the entire day to get that taxi plate. Got the run around here and there and finally got it registered as a Taxi Livery and spent another $800 on it. So while he did all that stuff, then later on, he was told by the business manager and salesman and that he had to come up with another $2000 for the vehicle to be released. Total of $6000 and that he has to come up in less than 10 days. My dad went back to the dealership and told them that he cannot cancel anything and that the $2000 CANNOT be refunded and that his old BMW cannot be given back anymore. Please, I'm asking you, give me a call at ###-###-####, what do I have to do to help my dad during this situation ? I wanna be there to help him but I live in the state of [redacted] and he's in [redacted]. I just don't want to see my parents stressed during this kind of situation. Thank YouDesired Settlement: My desired outcome is that my dad just want his refund back of $2000 cash that were given to them and his old BMW back - 1999 BMW 528i. That's all.

Response:

Hi [redacted] Hope you are well. As per our conversation earlier, attached you will find a signed copy of the Bill of Sale that states the exact down payment he owes. In addition, attached you will find a copy of the bank loan papers, that again he signed with the $6000 down payment. We have received to date $3500 from him ($2000 Cash, and $1500 for his vehicle) that he happily delivered the vehicle to us with the title immediately. All paperwork for the new vehicle is filed with the state. The vehicle has been titled to him and attached you will find the registration of the vehicle. [redacted] speaks and comprehends English fluently. There was no communication issue. For weeks prior to taking delivery of the vehicle, my staff has informed of the remainder of the balance that is due upon delivery of the vehicle. He is and was at all points of this transaction, aware of what he owes. If he was not happy or did not understand, why did he provide us with all the documents to register his vehicle. Nothing has changed at any point in this deal. We have spoken to him since all of this on many occasions and he confirms that he has signed all paperwork that I have provided. Therefore, I do not understand the discrepancy in all of the this. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me directly. Kathrin R[redacted]

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

How can that be a $6,000 when last week I've spoke with [redacted] on the phone and I was told that my dad only needed to put down $4,000 ??. My dad specifically told them that my dad cannot put down $6,000 down. And if what they're doing and telling my dad sign here and there and knew that my dad doesnt speak english very well, it's wrong. My dad trusted the salesman for every little detail and not knowing that the contract that he signed had to be 6 grands down. All he had was 2 grands PLUS the trade. That was it.

Review: We leased a car from them as they were UBER certified partners, they rent problematic cars week after week,The first car camry they gave us without a test drive had a transmission shifting issue, We notified them immediately to seek resolution and there reply was keep driving it's a car .. and that comes directly from their owner SAM,They gave us the second car which was a VolksWagen passat , the car has heating issues and is not reliable for winter extreme temperatures to carry passengers,They threatened us that they are going to keep our deposit and moreover deduced 500 for the week when the car is sitting at their mechanic which is [redacted] in [redacted] for past week. They have bad [redacted] reviews there rating on [redacted] is a meager 2.8,They are completely careless,non-listening troublesome business that doesn't have any interest of their customers in mind.Desired Settlement: We need our deposit back $1000 ,$500 they charged us the weekly rental to be reimbursed and our lost monies which is typically 2500 for two drivers as both of us are on the lease.

Response:

attached you will find the bills for the repair of the vehicle, the rental agreement, as well as the date the car was given back to us. As you can see even though they claimed that the car did not allow them to make money, they put about 10,000 miles in 1 month. From my experience, they have worked a great deal with this vehicle and they might have given it out for shifts with 2 other drivers, which is illegal. That many miles CANNOT be put on a car by 1 person driving it. That means that this vehicle was driven 24 hours a day. In addition, they brought the vehicle back because they put some other substance in the radiator and caused the vehicle to overheat. Therefore, you will see all the repair bills attached. Initially, they wanted our company to change the car from a camery to a jetta due to the lower gas mileage. We gladly obliged to that request. We have done all that we could to help this customer out and not only does he not paid us back with a thank you, he handed over a vehicle with many problems that he caused, as well as writing to your agency. We did not rent a vehicle to this gentleman in the condition he stated, As seen in the documentation. However, he gave back the vehicle to us in a horrible condition. Thank you [redacted]
