Beware!!! If you trust this company or [redacted] C (the President of Luxury Outdoor Design), you are taking a huge gamble with your home and your money. We hired LOD in April, 2015. [redacted] just kept asking for more money before any real work was performed. He got almost 1/2 the money for our pool before the hole was even dug. They didnt apply for the permits until 59 days after he cashed our $4000 deposit check. This is a violation of a State Statute, now that we have pointed that out on our reviews, he lies and claims that he recieved the soil report needed to apply for permits "very, very late". In fact, we delivered that report to him on April 22nd. If thats truely all he was waiting for, he still had plenty of time to apply for the permits within the 30 period that the Statute requires. [redacted] himself is not a liscensed contractor, LOD actually gets around this by having someone called a qualifier. This is a Liscensed contractor who is an officer in the corporation that works out of Lake Worth. He never actually ever stepped foot on our property during the entire 10 months that we were under contract with LOD. The only actual liscensed contractor who came to our home was a Sub-contractor that LOD hired to dig the hole. He started the dig in late September and did not finish the dig until Mid December. LOD had so many issues its I just dont have enough room to tell the whole horror story. Failed inspections, faulty equipment, constant missed scheduled workdays and weeks of nobody showing up at all. [redacted] knows full well that the law allows 90 days of non-activity on a job site before The State considers it Abandonment. He pushes that 90 days to the max, sends someone for a few hours, then nothing again for a few months.[redacted] gets verbally confrontational and says all kinds of nonsense to get his way. This happened whenever I questioned why he needed more money or the excuses he was giving for failed inspections or for no work being done for long periods at a time.. After 10 months, we finally hired a lawyer to terminate his very questionable contract (which we signed without having anyone else review it for us first..believe me, we regret this now). Please check the Broward County, Palm Beach County & Miami Dade county court records, there are lawsuits a plenty involving this company and its President as well as its "qualifier". Do your research!! Dont say we didnt warn you if you choose to hire this company.

This review is long, but worth the read if you want to know the real Outdoor Luxury Design. We signed on with [redacted] and Outdoor Luxury Design or also known as Luxury Outdoor Design in April 2013. Our pool project/ outdoor kitchen was started in May 2013. [redacted] said that he would be finished by September. His drop dead date when he absolutely would be finished was December 2013. He was so sure of himself that I suggested that if the job went past that date that he would incur a 10% penalty. We trusted him and kept on giving him the benefit of the doubt because he kept on promising he would be finished shortly. Finally, THIRTEEN MONTHS after the drop dead date, in January of 2015, we finally threw him off the job and finished the project on our own. At that point he had left us with a shambles. His men had covered up the blower system for the spa and we had to tear up the travertine decking to relocate it. The River Rok finish on the pool was stained and had to be redone. The new company we had to hire could not save it because the original job was not done properly. His men had also covered up our pool vacuum line, and we had to rip up another section of travertine tile to put in a new one. The electrical wiring had to be ripped out and redone. He had put in the wrong gauge wire (cheaper); and, he was splicing wires where no splicing was allowed. Both of these electrical situations were sub-code and could have easily caused a fire. The travertine tile was pitched wrong and rain water was collecting by our house. It had to be redone. Even though he had submitted plans to the city and pulled permits for all the different aspects of the job, he had been doing work and had never called for the required inspections. The permits had expired and we needed to reactivate them, pay fines and more fees, rip parts of the project apart to satisfy the inspectors, as well as bring the construction up to city code, because otherwise we could never have gotten a certificate of completion. [redacted] has a nice personality and initially wins you over. He is extremely responsive until the contract is signed and he has your money in hand. Then, he stops returning phone calls, texts and emails. Throughout the project, he kept on promising the world. He had told my daughter that he was going to build her a swing set, but later told us he did not have the expertise to do the job. My daughter was devastated...having waited almost two years for this swing set! The good news is that after we threw him off the job, we hired a company who finished the swing set! When we told him to leave the job, he demanded the rest of his money and said that he was "substantially near completion". He threatened us with a lawsuit and tried to use intimidation tactics. We resisted and he finally backed off. Because of all the snafus outlined above and MANY trips to the City for meetings and no active permits, we are just now getting finished with this job that was to have been finished December of 2013! His comments that he was "substantially near completion" were far off base, and it took us another seven months to finish. If anyone is thinking about using Outdoor Luxury Design for your project, please run the other way as fast as you can. You will have nothing but heartache if you use this company! He has been reported to the Revdex.com.

I hold a Florida Contractors License and am multi-degreed in construction. I hired Luxury Outdoor Design to construct a relatively simple pool at my new home. The experience was and continues to be one of absolute pain. My new pool as documented by a Professional Engineer and through physically obtaining core samples from the pool shell show the pool to have incorrectly placed reinforcement steel relative to both the earth surface and pool water. Furthermore, the required pool wall thicknesses of 6" is as thin as 4". The Engineer has deemed the pool to be poorly constructed an indicates the only solution is to remove the pool and "start over". The cost to remove the existing and properly construct the designed pool is at a cost nearly 4 times the original pool shell. I have since filed a lawsuit to recover from this loss. During our legal research it was discoved that a tangled web of companies surround this company. Furthermore the company owner, a very good "salesman" is not a licensed contractor but rather the business is qualified to contract through a licensed contractor known as a qualifier. The owner designed and sold me my first pool when he worked for another pool company as a designer and salesman. That experience was fairly painless which is why I trusted him and his company to construct my new pool. As a contractor with the knowledge to recognize and question the issues with my pool, I am concerned how the general public is being served by Luxury Outdoor Design. I do not recommend Luxury Outdoor Design.
