Luxury Vacation Deals Reviews (3)

Review: Recently purchased what we thought were vacation weeks at a resort claiming to be associated with Interval International named Luxury Leisure Alliance. These vacation weeks we bought in good faith and weeks later, of course after the short cancellation period, we were told of additional fees of $250 to $1500 charge per week of use which we already purchased in our contract. No where in our contract it is stated the there is an additional charge per week of $250 to $1500. We have attempted to reconcile this with LLA particulary [redacted] but nothing has been resolved. We would like a resolution which is fair and compliant with the contract that we signed not with what was inferred.Product_Or_Service: Luxury Leisure Alliance Coco BayAccount_Number: [redacted]Desired Settlement: Our contract was for 9 weeks of vacation time starting 2014. Monies involved are $22,595.00. We will gladly provide copies of contracts and email disputes with LLA. We seek a full and complete refund due to the undisclosed additional charges for these 9 weeks which cannot be found by us or by legal counsel on this contract. [redacted] could not find it either and offered to re-write the contract to reflect the inferred charges and we refused and requested a refund.

Review: In March 2014 while visiting Costa Rica we were invited to attend a sales presentation. The company, Las Palmas gave us a guarantee from a business partner [redacted], that they would sell our existing timeshare and pay us $12,200 within 300 days of the contract date. I have tried several times to get a response to the status of the payment from both [redacted] and Las Palmas, but to no avail.Desired Settlement: Payment of the $12,200 as agreed

Review: The sales pitch was given in a small group setting of approximately six couples. It was clearly and specifically stated that this was not a time-share proposal they were making. It was gloriously presented that we would save hundreds of dollars on vacations of our dreams, etc.: Fly to far away places, stay in elegant quarters and dine extravagantly. Then each couple was assigned to a "team member" who began a one-on-one sales pitch. We had to decide immediately and pay the "membership fee" that day (although we were told that we only needed to bring our credit cards along for identification). We had taken our first cruise and thought this sounded great. However, 1) when we ask them to get airline tickets and/or hotel reservations for trips, we were told they can't do any better than the airlines or hotels as far as pricing. 2) When we asked how we could sell our membership because this was not what we understood the membership to be,they said we would have to advertise it ourselves because they do not deal in transfers, only memberships. We are not condo or resort travelers and the announcements of "hot deals" are always for stated days/weeks at their specifically-designated resorts. We feel we were misled by the sales presentation, albeit the speaker enthusiastically engaged the audience and did an excellent job at selling the program. This was in no way a small piece of change we invested only to learn that we cannot use it as we understood, but as a "Luxury Vacation Deal" at one of their properties.Desired Settlement: We would like to have the membership fee refunded because we have not been able to reap any of the benefits promised in their presentation. At no point in the presentation, was it mentioned your choices would be limited to their offerings. If we cannot get a refund, we would like to warn others who get a "special invitation" to free airline tickets and/or weekend stay, to be very careful and ask for clarification on where and what will be provided at a "great savings."

Response:

We contend that this complaint is without validity, lacking accuracy, and erroneously directed at Vacation Fulfillmentfor the following reasons.1) Per the agreement signed by the member when purchasing, they are to contact the sales center where they purchased if they request a refund or cancellation. It is clearly explained how to process a refund/cancellation request.2) The benefits of the program are clearly defined in the agreement, identifying the greatest benefits of the program are the vacation resort condo opportunities.3) The member has only contacted our office for one

cruise inquiry, and a possible future Orlando vacation; to which the member only price as quoted was less than publicly published.Additionally, I have attached a document to support our position that the member has full understanding and knowledge of the vacation program to which they purchased. In this document you will identify that the member signed and or initialed each article pertaining to, and contradictory to their complaints as stated.Cordially,[redacted]Vice President Operations

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

We were out of town and just returned. Since we did not meet the deadline, we just want to say that we do not agree with all their statements. The sales center where we signed the agreement was a temporary meeting room in a local hotel and, of course, they are no longer there. The other option was to contact the Escrow Agency who held our money for three business days and then they are released from any claims. The benefits do mention resorts and condo opportunities but they also indicate air fares and hotel prices available. Our record of the quote for a Disney cruise from Orland was the same as one from Disney direct....no savings. The other time we contacted them was for a hotel stay in Ohio and we were told they couldn't give us a better price than we already had. As far as signing the document and initialing each article, we did do that but feel the statements are vague and obviously can be interpreted in different ways.

Thank you for your help in this matter. We appreciate your time in processing our complaint and hope it shows that there has been one complaint against this business.

Regards,
