Review: I paid in full for services to my car (a transmission and labor, mirrors and wheels) at a price of $1,200 on February 26, 2014. I paid cash. The owner who was the only mechanic and employee (besides myself) told me work would begin in three days. That did not happen. Throughout the month he told me on 6 different occasions that my car would start getting work done (on different dates). At one point, March 16th through the 24th, I dropped my vehicle off to be worked on , and still, it was never even moved from where I had parked it. On the 25th of March he verbally told me he'd come pick up my car from my home on the morning of the 26th so that he could begin. I accepted, but as the afternoon of the 26th rolled around, I phoned him to ask if he was still coming. He said no, he already was at the shop and working on another vehicle so he couldn't leave. At this point I decided to ask for my money back in order to take my vehicle elsewhere to get the services it desperately needed. He contested, told me to bring the car up that afternoon. I could not, so I asked again for the money. He gave many excuses but finally agreed to refund the money. On April 2, 2014, I again asked for my refund, and he reluctantly agreed, but then explained he needed to sell the items before I could receive my cash payment back. He told me he'd call me in one week after the races where finished to give the refund. He did not contact me within the week, so I called him. On the evening of April the 9th, I again contacted him. He said he still didn't sell the trans he purchased for my car so he can't give the refund. Then he started telling me I have to come pick up the transmission the following Monday, then return my transmission, so he could take it to New Jersey, before I could receive the balance of my cash payment. And that somehow the charge for my [redacted] now totaled $2,000, even though it was never touched.Desired Settlement: I would like the a full refund of the $1,200 that I paid in cash. Also, at this point, a fair amount of compensation for all the troubles I'm incurring due to the fact that my car is still not fixed, not in a safe drivable condition to take my car elsewhere as well as not being able to afford another $1,200 to get the work done as so desperately needed.
