Review: When attempting to trade in our lease vehicle we were advised that there would be a charge for a set if tires being below standard. This was a 36 month; 36000 mile lease. The lease was over in four months and there was 24000 miles on the car. The sales manager reported to me that they must charge for the tires because they would have to replace them to make this a "certified" used car. My understanding of the lease that I would be held accountable for anything over normal ware and tare, ie: over mileage, dents or scratches or not maintaining up keep oil, etc. My question is if the tires that were put on the car would not last the 36000 miles I contracted for unless noted in the lease. How could 12000 less then agreed upon be a violations for penalty.[redacted]

Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

1. Explanation of why this conduct was not an underhanded why of getting more money for something that we could not control and were unaware was part of the deal.2. Now that the $500 coupon is out of date as of July 1, we would like to have a discussion of buying a car with this (according to their chart)$10,400 pay off, and the retail would be $14,000 to $15,500; could act as down payment for another lease and $200 monthly payment.Note: My wife and I are on a fixed income and have a budge.

I called the customer to clear his misunderstanding, left message to his wife. Never got the response. Following are our comments:

Customer came to our dealership to lease a CAMRY on June 25, 2013 since his Corolla lease was expiring on OCTOBER 11, 2013. We gave the numbers for the lease of CAMRY 2013 as $238.77 plus tax which comes to $253.93 per month. Considering to pay off his balance of remaining 4 payments and honoring the $500/rebate.

During the discussions with the customer who wanted the payments to be 200/215 per month, the Manager told him if we purchase the Corolla we will have to spend $500 for new tires + Certification + any other repair needed prior to selling the vehicle on our lot as Certified Used Vehicle.

We never told him to replace or change the tires.

Please remember customer was trying to UPGRADE by Leasing a CAMRY 2013 from a COROLLA 2010 and wanted to pay $215, as he was paying for his Corolla..$194.98 per month.

Concluding, customer came to the dealership for only Negotiations to lease a 2013 Camry. Nothing was discussed in regards to the inspection of his LEASED 2010 Corolla which is the responsibility of Toyota inspection team, when customer returns the vehicle at the end of his lease.

Lease is between Toyota Financial and the customer. He can return the vehicle at the end of the Term without replacing the Tires. TFS will only charge the customer for any damages to Corolla. Case is closed.

Review: My husband bought my 2010 T[redacted] in December of 2009 at Lynch Toyota. One of the main reasons was because they offered TIRES FOR LIFE program that offered free tire replacement for as long as you own your vehicle. At my last oil change they said I need new tires but when they contacted the manufacturer, they said they won't pay for the tires because I did not have all(I had 2 oil changes done somewhere else ) my oil changes done at the dealership. I feel that this is unfair because they NEVER told us that this is a requirement, otherwise, I would have made sure to do that. That should have been made clear at purchase time and every time I went for an oil change. I complained but they said they can't do nothing because it is the manufacturer's not their requirement.Desired Settlement: I hope that they can honor the warranty, but if they can not, I hope that in the future they make it clear to the customers the requirements needed for coverage of the warranties or special programs that they offer. I feel that they lured me in with the offer of this great program, but when it came time to fulfill their obligation, they came up with an excuse to get out of it. Thank you for your help.

J[redacted]/M[redacted] was sent copies of the documents (Customer enrollement form- Express Tires For Life and Repair orders # [redacted] dated Dec 9, 2010 and 4 more repair orders) by mail on Jan 31, 2014.All the Repair Orders had a box in bold UNDER THE CAPTION,"LYNCH TIRES for Life CUSTOMER'S" Which read " PLEASE FOLLOW THE FACTORY RECOMMENDED SERVICE SCHEDULE IN YOUR OWNER'S MANUAL TO KEEP YOUR POLICY IN EFFECT. LATE OR MISSING FACTORY RECOMMENDED SERVICES WILL VOID YOUR TIRES FOR LIFE POLICY. SEE YOUR SERVICE ADVISOR IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ON THE FACTORY RECOMMENDED SERVICE. THANK YOU. Customer was given copies of all the documents at the time of purchasing after he/she signed. Every 5000 miles customer had to change oil filter and "Tire Rotation" which he/she did till 27,384 miles (May 17, 2012)this was the fourth oil change and tire rotation (FREE). Then he/she came back at 38,059 miles on March 21, 2013. Gap of app 11000 miles. Then she came back at 47,361 miles. Gap of app.9300 miles. without the tire rotation thereby violating the policies for "Tires For Life". All the relevant copies of the documents can be mailed to you if you so wish. Please note we can not help the customer as our policy is very clear and it was FREE ($1100 Value) to all the customers provided they follow the rules. As explained earlier we do not lure the customers, it is there choice to buy the vehicle from any where they want to buy

I am rejecting this response because: I am grateful for the copies of the documents that were sent to me. I can see now that it was in writing, in the small print on the bottom that very few people read. It was also on receipts, however it was covered with the copy of my receipt stapled to it. Even if I saw it, I probably would not recognize it because I was never told the name of the program or what the requirements are to get the benefit of the program. I wish somebody told me clearly and simply. If I knew, I would have made sure to get all the oil changes done at the dealership. I should have known it sounds too good to be true.

Sincerely,

Review: Recall on a frame for Toyota Sequoia as the frame is totally rusted and perforated. [redacted] replaced the frame but during the repair they broke the exhaust system and other parts on the car and would not replace them. Further there are many other parts that should be replaced as the same metal was used for those parts and they are rusted and perforated. The vehicle should have been totaled. They actually gave me the vehicle in unsafe condition to drive.I tried to resolve the issue directly with them and with Toyota but neither would help. There are other perforations on the body of the vehicle but they will not do anything about it.I want to file a formal complaint against [redacted] Toyota and Toyota Motor Corporation. Any help in resolving this issue is very much appreciated.Thank you[redacted]

Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Replacement

Replacement of exhaust system, links to front stabilizer bar, gas tank shield and body rust repair in the rear wheel well.

I am responding to the complaint for [redacted] vehicle. Prior to the work being done he had received a letter from Toyota as to what was covered in this Limited Service Campaign.Once vehicle was inspected we advised him of work recommended in addition to the campaign and he rejected. He was advised that most cost effective to do now. He left and called me and asked what I was willing to do and I offered the same pricing even though the SUV was fully assembled. [redacted] has contacted the States Attorney and they in turn have contacted Toyota. [redacted] Toyota has complied with the Limited Service Campaign COD.Please if you need further assistance with this matter please call me. I can be reached at XXX XXX XXXX I also have the States Attorney email [redacted]@ct.gov, as well as the Limited Service Campaign.Thank You for your time.
