Do not do business with this company, they take advantage and prey on people who are not familiar with an AC system and in our case as well, the elderly, they overwhelm you with information that is just salesman double talkIt all starts off with Mitchell, came to the condo on a Saturday, promises you the world, and then tried to sell my dad a condenser for $10, Luckily I was present and I didn't let that happenMitchell pointed out how old our AC was, I was aware of this, the blower is an inside blower/air handler, and I asked Mitchell shouldn't that unit that supply's the air flow to and from be replaced as wellHis reply "Oh no that's been replaced so don't fix what aint broken"This was not trueThe blower is as old as the ACSettled on a price of $6,which I knew was high but it's the middle of summer and I understood the higher price, come to find out that price not justifiedSet up install for following Monday but didn't happen for 1/weeks because of HOA protocol, I'm sure Avis knew it would take some time to setup, but he sure was in a hurry to get signature and gladly took my $cash Once installed Mitchell assured me any problems let me know you have a year warranty, more BS, its according to the paperwork that another tech found in the unitAC has been blowing air but it has never been cold, first time I had on for an hour and a half, got down to degrees, was in my office sweating while workingOh yea Mitchell you never took a supply reading to see if it was at least degrees lower than the return, I text Mitchell many times no answerMy dad has been leaving messages to the owner Craig S*** own cell phone who prior to the sale would call right back or answer, now done deal no call back, no text back eitherThis has been going on for weeks still haven't heard from either of these individualsJust so happened that my neighbor was having something done to her AC and they had to access something in my condo because we share the same condensation drainTheir AC tech comes over did what he had to do and says BTW see you had a new condenser installed, yes I say, he then asked why wasn't this 1970's blower replaced? I answer, I was told it had been, he replies, any reputable AC person in the business can tell you hasn'tHe asked, did you pay over $for just the condenser, yes almost $I answered, he informed me for that much money at least the blower should have been replaced as well and be matched to the new AC unit otherwise won't be as cold and run as efficient as it should Our company does these condos and you get everything that is needed including a new blower/motor/air handler/whatever it takes at $6400-$6800, "Including return air filters read that Mitchell?" Turns out this tech was more than a tech, said to me very politely, "the company you dealt with really wronged you and they and the pitch man (read that MrM) made quite a profit off you Basically you have a $7,fan that will blow moderately cool maybe but mostly blow room temp." Boy was he right! Thank you Mitchell and thank you for still not returning calls or text, you as well Craig Smith I understand you still have not returned a call to my father, sure got busy all of a suddenThese people will promise you anything prior to the sale, once sale is made they're in the wind and good luck trying to get them to back up their promises or contractFinally a tech from Avis showed up did his best by adding more refrigerant, which by the way was low, (brand new unit leaking already, who knows), to the AC but, yet at a cost of $6700, as I sit here typing, AC has been on an hour, condo is degrees and I'm still sweating! Condo is less than 900sq ft., installed a ton Lenox, it should be freezing in here why I am sweatingMy dad a former Marine, trust people, gives the benefit of the doubt, and takes people at their word on a hand shake, I don't, this is a perfect example whyI feel that the administrators along with certain personal at Avis Heating and don't abide by the mission statement, thanks for the lessonI learned a lot in the past few weeks about HVAC systems and what they should cost, what they include and what they actually cost from legit companiesSince I haven't heard back from Avis, I've been taken! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH AVIS HEATING AND AIR, THEY ARE SHYSTERS, MITCHELL WILL SAY ANYTHING, TALKS NON STOP WITH HIS FLOW CHARTED SALES PITCH, AND THEN HE PROCEEDS TO TAKE YOU FOR AS MUCH MONEY AS HE CAN, BELIEVE IT, IT HAPPENED TO ME!

I had this company come out, through a coupon, to service my A/C and Heating systems, about yrs agoI was told a year ago, by one of their servicemen, that I had a lot of leaking under my A/C unit in my atticHe showed me (cell) photos and told me it's a SERIOUS problem and needed a new pan replacing the rusted one (among other thingsI reported it to a manager there (Dave) who came out and told me there's no problem there, and showed me new photos with no existing rusting! He convinced me to get the servicing contract, where they come out twice a year to make sure the system is working right
weeks, I came home and my A/C was not workingIt was upstairs! My tenant had turned it off briefly the day before and forgot to turn it back onI turned it on but it would not workI waited 1/an hour and nothingNow my system had been serviced by Avis week before and everything "looked just fine" according to a new serviceman from AvisI called and Dave, the manager, came outBefore he arrived, the A/C finally came on! When Dave arrived, he immediately started telling me I needed a whole new system, since mine was yrs old and is on it's way out! He did not check the system at allHe brought in a big binder full of information on NEW systemsI told him I'm a senior, work occasionally, and am on a fixed incomeHe proceeded to tell me, based on my sq ft, story condo, that it would be a ton replacing the old one, and it would be $17,200.00!!!!!!!!
Once I picked myself up off the floor, I expressed my shock and disbelief it could be that highI repeated that prices "have gone up up the years"He also showed me some "payment plans" so I could handle this big expense over time
Needless to say, I told him I can't commit to that huge cost and would have to do my researchHe warned me that my A/C could go out anytime!
Well, I sent out an urgent request to my woman's group asking for any information on these systems and after some phone calls etc, I received bids, ALL (YES, ALL) were estimated to be $5-6,installed!!!!!!!!!!!!
I rest my case!!!!!

Dave serviced everything that goes with AC and heating and explained everything he was doing and how long a part would last Great service

I was very pleased with the service *** *** provided and impressed with his pleasant and positive demeanorHe was eager to provide insight regarding the service he was providing, he was thorough, and very professional

Three years ago Avis replaced the ducts in my forced-air heating system I have been angry ever since and finally decided to write this review First of all, they charged an exorbitant price for one to two hour's work Secondly, since my house was built in I believe the ducts had asbestos yet they did not follow the regulations for handling asbestosI question whether the two men who did the job were licensed for handling asbestos They may have been, but they were called to do the job just because they happened to be in the shop at the time They were called to do the job right away, before I had time to re-think my decision regarding the job The men did not have any special attire nor did they cover the vents or do anything else to prevent possible traces of asbestos from entering my house I feel I was taken advantage of by a good talker

We had Avis come out and instal duck work in our attic at our property on *** *** ** *** *** A short time after the completed the job we notice cracks around our house We keep seeing more and more cracksWe finally went up in the attic and notice that when Avis installed the ducks the busted up all the roof ties in the attic
They also left all there trash and left over ducks pieces in the atticThe ducks were not strapped either
We spoke with AVIS several times and they said they would replace the broken roof ties and clean up the debris and strap the ducking up to code
They didn't believe they were responsible for fixing the cracks around the house
WE brought in a structure engineer and he stated that because Avis broke the roof ties it caused the house to shift causing the cracks throughout the house
We sent Avis the report from the engineer
We want Avis to fix the cracks in the house as they were responsible for them

Dan W was very professional, friendly and did a great job with my a/c and heater annual maintenance Showed me how bad my ducting was and where I was losing heat/cooling into the attic Would highly recommend this business!!

I have been using AVIS Heating and Air Conditioning for over years on multiple houses They move quickly on projects and even were able to install an AC condenser unit the same day I called They have been able to diagnose and fix a number of issues that were missed by previous HVAC companies I have used Their customer service is second to no other HVAC company I have worked with

Avis Heating and Air in Anaheim, California, seriously took advantage of my mother They charged her $to install a thermostat!! Her new Heating and Air guy said he would have charge her $(part and labor) to do the job Avis also tried to scare my mom into purchasing a new furnace by telling her the one she had would develop cracks and explode! The new Heating and Air guy had the gas company do a safety check and it came out fine The new Heating and Air guy said my mom's furnace has years life left Avis also charged my mom $a month to change her furnace filter only twice a year I clicked on one star but Avis deserves zero stars
