The price that was given to the customer over the phone is a starting price for making a key, we cannot give a solid price over the phone because every job can vary in price depending on vehicle, car make and model, key codes (which costs us $to get) and hardware usedBefore starting any type of work our techs are to quote a subtotal, if the customer does not agree we cannot begin work

Case [redacted] The customer was compensated and her door was replaced

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:The complaint isn't about the amount charged and whether it is fair or not The complaint is about you agreeing to advertising that states that services start at $when you know full well that there is no service you offer that costs only $ This is false, or at the very least very misleading advertising You should not be allowed to say you can provide a service for a specific price when there is no way that you will ever charge that amount Advertised prices should accurately reflect the prices you intend to charge If I had a car dealer and put an ad in the paper that said "Starting at $999" when the cheapest car I had available on the lot was $4,999, I could be punished for advertising Why is your service any different? Sincerely, [redacted] ***

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me How does this now proceed and how will the refund be made? Sincerely, [redacted]

Case [redacted] Our company operates as a subcontractor for lead companiesThey advertise for us and for other locksmith companies, whether it is online or otherwiseBesides incurring the cost of labor and other basic operating expenses, we also incur the cost of receiving job leadsIn simple terms, it is our marketing expenseOverall, the process that starts from the moment they receive a customer call until the service is completed is a pretty expensive and hectic operation to runAdvertising on a first-page Google search is extremely expensive by itself. It is not unheard of that a customer is not happy with our prices, and often our technicians are told to leave without providing any serviceSometimes there is some miscommunication between our company and the lead companies as wellHowever, the customer was presented an invoice with the total price before the service was providedWhether the customer agreed to the price or not, he signed the invoice and told the technicians to unlock his car

Case ***We did not find any records of this job in our systemWe will need the invoice

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
Not only am I dissatisfied with the service, their service personnel won't talk to about the problem To reiterate the problem: They sold me keys to the Couger that I own that didn't have a chip in the key. Then the "technician" tried to program the non chipped keys to the car.I had to buy keys from another locksmith in order to use my car weeks later. That in itself was a serious problem to overcome for that weeks work!Did we work it out...NO! Am l satisfied...PAying for sets of keys should scream NO!!I think these crooks should lose their business licence and the technician be barred from this line of work lifetimeV/R*** ***
Sincerely,

We here at ND Locksmith have no idea why this customer would go as far to say we didn't provide her a key, and yet we have signed receipts and invoices that we showed the bank when she originally disputed the chargeWhy would a customer pay $without receiving any type of service? We cut and
programmed her keyWe most definitely did and have gone to the NASTF site to pull up the information and codes for the key that we programmed for her, at this point we don't know any other way to prove that we did in fact give her a key. *** ***Honda Accord***

The customer was quoted a starting price on the phone$was the final price, which the technician told her before providing the service

We would like to apologize if there was any miscommunication between our contractor/dispatch and the customer, the price quoted for a car lockout are starting prices, and $is not an uncommon total invoice, this includes tech rate and timeWe are willing to do a partial refund of $for any
inconvenience the customer may have experienced

Regarding this complaint,We would like to apologize for any inconvenience the customer may have experienced. The first time our technician was at the job site there were problems with the port on our key programmingdevice, and for that our tech came back a second time with a new device and spent
several hours on the site working to get the keys programmedWe did not charge the customer for the second service call or for the technicians hours, we are willing to offer a partial refund in the amount of $98.00, the remaining amount in the total invoice covers the parts used. Thanks,ND Locksmith

Case #: ***Our business operation is very expensiveThe starting prices advertised are designed to cover the minimal costs of advertising and minimal vehicle expenses such as gasWe understand the frustration on the consumer sideWhen our technicians show up at the job site, they present an invoice with the final price on itIt is not a surpriseCustomers often cancel the service due to dissatisfaction with the final priceThere's is no problem with thatHowever, the customer cannot agree to the final price, sign the invoice, and then complain about it
