Lyndon's Riverview Sports, Inc. Reviews (2)

I have been in this store a few times and have always been treated with the utmost of respect, no matter what I may be shopping for. One trip was for finding materials suitable for a set for a military play. I am sure mine was an odd request a year ago, but helpful staff guided me into just what I needed. The blind materials I bought really made the set pop. A few months ago, I got a gift card for my wife's birthday for fishing supplies. The young lady at the register helped me there, and I knew I was making the right choice. Finally, my wife and I were able to go back on September 12, 2015 to select her fishing rod, tackle box, and equipment. I am not sure if he goes by Allen or Alan, but this man took his time with us and helped us select just what we wanted and needed. He obviously enjoys fishing and did not mind helping us in any way. From the beginning, I certainly appreciated his knowledge and ability to teach me a little more, since I know much less about fishing than my wife and he, but he never made me feel like I could not learn. Also, I had been wanting a handgun for some time now, and after our time with finding fishing supplies was over, I put the supplies in the vehicle and came back in to see some handguns. What I did not know, is that I had already kept him from eating his lunch while it got cold, and now he was perfectly willing to help me further. I felt bad but he did not mind. Another of the staff, Johnny, came over to help and maybe let him eat, but what happened was that both continued to help my wife and I. I put one on layaway, and like another that I may get soon for my second. Also, my wife picked out one that I want to get for her. I was not in a hurry, had put a lot of thought in my decisions, but also needed them to help with what I needed. I had had another experience with a competitor business, and although the salesman was nice, he actually talked me out of the handgun I wanted into something I did not really want simply because I was a novice. Allen/Alan told me to never let anyone talk me out of what I want. He insisted on the decision being mine and for me to end up with what I really wanted, not to spend a lot of money on something I would not use in the long run and that making me regret my purchase. I know that was sound advice, and based on what I told him, he helped me select exactly what I wanted. Through our talk about weapons, I learned he is a Marine brother of my father and uncle. Different wars for all three mind you, but still brothers. But even before I knew that, he had already made me feel comfortable as if I had known him a long time. Another gentleman (I don't know his name), helped get me a holster for my Kimber. It turns out he is Retired Army, and heard that my wife had served in the National Guard. I know this is supposed to be a review about the shop or the business, and it is a glowing review as far as I am concerned, based on my three visits in the past year. But it is the caring people who love what they do, the knowledgeable folks who listen to their customer and answer questions or give details on the merchandise that make this review such a positive one. A person cannot truly sell a product if they don't know about it. These people have the knowledge and ability. I appreciate these men's service to our country, and for them being not only an adviser to me, but a friend. That goes a long way with me. Some of this may sound corny, but I am being simply as honest as these friends were to me. I would recommend Lyndon's to my friends because I know they would be treated just as well as I was.
