From: David B*** Sent: Monday, February 6, 3:PM To: info Subject: *** Good afternoon: I received the above notated complaint on 2/6/17. The complaint alleges that a Coastal Credit employee called a business about a consumer debt and
disclosed information about the debt to more than one employee in a threatening and harassing manner. The complainant appears to be an office manager who describes the employee who received the allegedly harassing phone call as a “contract labor” and not employed on a regular basis. However, the complainant does not identify the customer with which Coastal Credit has a relationship. Without that information, I cannot investigate the merits of the complaint nor perform any remediation. I would be happy to do so when the account is identified. Sincerely, David JB*** Corporate Attorney Coastal Credit, LLC N Meridian Street Suite Indianapolis, IN Phone: 317-324-E-mail: db***@coastalcreditllc.com

I reviewed the specific telephone call in question and our representative told our customer that the number they called must have been given to us by her or her husband. At no time during the call did our representative mention anything about it being listed on the credit application, when our
customer stated that it was a work number and not a cellular phone our representative apologized twice for calling it and also stated that we would update it in the systemOur representatives tone was not rude, if anything she was more startled than anything. Additionally the number that was dialed has been in our servicing system since January 5, (last year) when the branch had added it into the system when the customer had called into the branch and it was listed as a cellular phone which is why the number was called.
Again we apologize to the customer for calling their work number, have updated our servicing system so that it will not be called again. In addition we have notated the customer’s account that they do not wish to receive reminder calls and only receive calls if their payment is past due and lastly not to receive calls from Mary ***
Please let me know if you have any additional questions in regards to this
Thank you

Revdex.com Complaint *** *** * *** Summary: Consumer stated a letter was mailed in January of asking about the inquiry made on her credit bureau report, on January Consumer claims she never received a response to why the inquiry is on her credit report
Conclusion: A Payment Call Application was sent in from the dealer, *** *** ***, on January This implies that the consumer was auto “shopping” and the dealership is sending this application to multiple creditors Payment Call - application request for a dollar amount to determine if consumer qualifies for a certain payment-this type of application does not list a vehicle Coastal Credit “recommended approval” and called the application back to the dealership The consumer/dealership did not choose Coastal Credit for financing The consumer would not receive an Adverse Action because they were not denied Per Coastal Credit’s Credit Reporting Policy, a consumer credit report is only obtained when Coastal has a FCRA “permissible purpose”, which obtaining credit is a permissible purpose Coastal Credit sends a generic “Inquiry Letter” in response to the letters sent in from consumers asking about the inquiry per the Credit Reporting Policy and Procedures This letter states that Coastal Credit pulls consumer credit reports only when an application for credit is sent in from a dealership The letter also states what the consumer can do if they disagree with the inquiry: 1. Dispute with the Credit Bureau’s as Coastal Credit cannot delete inquiries Coastal Credit does not need to respond to “inquiry letters” per the FCRA: “…not required to investigate a Direct Dispute if it relates to: a. The consumer’s identifying information (e.gname, date of birth, Social Security number, telephone number(s), or address(es)) unless the dispute relates to liability for an account or debt; b. The identity of past or present employers; c. The inquiries or requests for a consumer report; d. Information derived from public records provided creditor e. Information related to fraud alerts or active duty alerts; or f. Information provided to a CRA by another furnisher Application Number *** Source System Code DT App Status X Applicant - Full Name *** *** CoApplicant - Full Name Dealer - Name *** *** *** ** *** Dealer - Phone Nbr *** *** * *** Dealer - City *** *** Dealer - State

They are reporting it as a charge off when they said they would report it as satisfactory and paid in fullI have contacted coastal credit in Virginia beach twice about it and they just keep telling me they will fix this issue and it has not been fixedThis issue has damaged my credit severely

From: David B*** Sent: Friday, June 9, 11:AM To: info Subject: *** Thank you for bringing this issue to our attentionI listened to the recorded call, and I find it completely inappropriate what was said at the end of the call. The
employee was disciplined and retrained. I will note, however, that the employee did NOT say “you should be ashamed of yourself” on the callNeither was anything stated regarding “derogatory statements, accusations, and hearsay,” as stated in the complaint. That doesn’t excuse what our rep stated at the very end of the call, and Coastal has and is addressing that issue with its employee. We are extremely sorry for his actions, and hope that you can take solace in the fact that the employee was disciplined and retrained David JB*** Corporate Attorney Coastal Credit, LLC N Meridian Street Suite Indianapolis, IN Phone: 317-324-E-mail: db***@coastalcreditllc.com

This is wrong as it took Coastal Credit over a month just to release and I had to go to several people to get this done.. It was not done in the 3 days they proclaim.  I have record of the phone calls and so does the bank that was waiting on the title release.   SO this business can say whatever they want and its resolved?  This is sad because they are lying and in the wrong.   The $35 dollar they are referring to was not submitted at the time of full payoff and the bank paid them well before the payoff date expired including full amount.  THerefore they had to eat the $35.. NO one from that company communicated in any way to let us even know what the hold up was for.  Myself and the band had to call them and then it took again couple weeks.  Then no title and this was all going on over a month.  THis company is obviously a group of crookedness.  So is the Revdex.com I guess too.  You send me a notice that they claim it took 3 days and call it resolved... thank you for NOTHING at all and I see how Revdex.com is these days.  Not for the Consumer at all.

Thank you for allowing Coastal Credit, LLC (“Coastal), the opportunity to address [redacted]l’s (“[redacted]”) concerns regarding Coastal’s contact with her as a reference for Coastal customer [redacted].  I have investigated the matter and provide the following response.   ...

Coastal would like to extend an apology to Ms. [redacted] for the various times it contacted her after she indicated she did not want to be contacted further.  It is not Coastal’s policy to continue to contact references after they express their desire not to be contacted.  The employee who did so in this instance was required to attend extensive coaching sessions wherein he was retrained on the issue so that it will not be repeated in the future.  Also, Ms. [redacted]’s name and identification was removed from our system of record. Further, Coastal is in the process of overhauling its policy regarding the use of references so that Ms. [redacted]’s experience will not be repeated with her or any other reference.   Again, Coastal Credit, LLC, has remediated the issue, and would like to apologize to Ms. [redacted] for the error of its employee in contacting her.  Sincerely,David J B[redacted], Corporate Attorney

Coastal Credit LLC wrote off the $35 balance on 10/6/15 and the title was subsequently released on 10/9/15 so the matter is resolved.
Please let me know if you have any questions in regards to this.
Thanks,
