Review: I dropped off a mens 2 piece suit 2 dress shirts and 2 pairs of pants---total of 6 items on Saturday August 24th approx 9 a.m. due to the fact I had a doctor appt next door a [redacted] at 9 15 for my infected foot. ok dropped of 6 pcs of closthes for dry cleaning never been there before dropped off clothes --the clerk never volunteered to tell me how much or about the quote --un quote SPECIALS THEY HAVE ON THERE SIGN OUT FRONT--SPECIALS THUR FRI-SATURDAY ON THERE SIGN --HE NEVER VOLUNTEERED THE PRICE I HAD TO ASK THE MALE CLERK WELL HOW MUCH??? I thought that was unusual to begin with?? then I had to ask how much that was first---then he gave me a stub and never wrote how many items I dropped off--I THOUGHT THAT WAS VERY UNUSUAL ALSO=----I WROTE THE PIECE COUNT OF MY LAUNDRY ON THE STUB JUST IN CASE THE CLERK WOULD TRY TO SAY NO I DIDNT HAVE THOSE QUANTITY OF ITEMS WHEN TIME TO PICK UP---SO WITH MY WORK TOOK ME A WEEK TO PICK UP---THE BILL WAS 29 DOLLARS---I PAID IT IN FULL CASH I ASKED THE CLERK THEN WHAT THAT SPECIAL ON THE OUT SIDE BILL BOARD--OH YA GOTTA ASK ABOUT IT FIRST TO GET HALF PRICE ON YOUR =DRY CLEANING///////////???????????????????? ask first??? I said ya never even volunteered the information after I paid in full I said I have never been here before--he said ya gotta ask first to get the DRY CLEANING DISCOUNT IF YA GOT PROBLEMS CALL [redacted] THE MANAGER SHE WILL BE THERE AT 5 PM AT THE STORE---ON SATURDAY--I CALL TO SPEAK TO MANAGER GOT ANOTHER GAL WHICH REFUSED TO SAY HER NAME SAID [redacted] THE MANAGER WONT BE I N UNTIL TUESDAY SHE SAID THATS JUST HOW IT GOES GOTTA ASK ABOUT THE SPECIAL EVEN THOUGH NO SIGNS IN THE STORE OR AT CASH REGISTER STATING ABOUT THE SPECIAL AND THATS HOW IT GOES THE CLERKS DONT HAVE TO MENTION THE SPECIAL --WHEN I TOLD HER I WILL REPORT TO THE Revdex.com SHE HUNG UP ON ME--GOT THE OLE DIAL TONE.... NEEDLESS TO SAY ALL IN ALL BAD BUSINESS PRACTICE WHY ADVEWRTISE --GET YA IN THE STORE AND NOT HONOR WHAT IS ADVERTISED ON THE BILL BOARD OUT SIDE SPECIAL THUR--FRIDAY SATURDAY---I THINK ITS A REALLY DIRTY BUSINESS DEALING THEY ARE DOING--- I EVEN DROPPED OFF ON A DAY OF THE SPECIAL???? This is in response to your letter for the complaint [redacted]. It is the standard practice for most companies to require that the customer ask about specials when dropping off an order. Also specials have to be paid at the time the order is received. The claimant did not ask about any specials or pay for the order when it was brought in. Also it has always been our practice to give the customer the bottom part of the cleaning ticket. We write down the number of pieces on the top part of the ticket and keep that with the order. I spoke with the clerk and he said the customer did not ask for the price when he brought the clothes in. Therefore no money will be refunded to the customer. Brenda Lyons Lyons Modem Cleaners

For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Number 1 when I dropped off my clothes for dry cleaning I asked the clerk nicely HEY this is the first time I am here for business to get clothes cleaned once again re-stating told the cleark first time I am here( do I pay now OR do I pay later..) I got from the clerk an answer of you are to pay later. THAT is on a Saturday of there so called special--I did ask do I pay ahead/up-front or later--he said later... Ok I also wrote on my stub the number of articles I dropped off--note my stub note their stubb I dont know what it said but for my reference I wrote the colors and number of pieces I dropped off and what they were so no problems when I went to pick up.Picked up a week later on a Saturday special still going on asked how much my clothes was he said 29 bucks I went ahead and paid--asked him then whats this special he said( ya gotta ask in advance about it half off dry cleaning and pay in advance-)-I said when I was here last week you didnt VOLUNTEER this quote -un-quote special --no-signs in the whole building stating what the special was or is. Review: I have used this laundromat since I moved to salem. I do not use there dryers that they have labeled as hot. I was using what the owner claimed to be a cool drying and it melted one of my sweaters. When I informed the owner of the issue she called me a liar and said that her dryer could not have done it because it was not a hot dryer. She only spoke to me for a minute and ignored me after our first conversation. I would like appropriate reimbursement for the clothing that there defective dryer caused. The women I spoke to would not give me her name. She said it was on the sign. She kicked me out when I insisted I need her name. The name on the sign is lyons modern cleaners and laundromat.Desired Settlement: Reimbursement for ruined clothing.

This is in reference to complaint ID [redacted]. The customer used a dryer to dry a load of laundry and it when the clothes finished drying they said one of the sweaters was damaged. However if the issued had been the dryer was too hot then it would have damaged all of the clothes. The customer showed me a sweater and it appeared to me that it was a cigarette burn on the sweater. The dryer did not and could not have caused any damage to the sweater. Also when the customer approached me I was in the middle of helping another customer. I explained to the customer that the dryer did not cause the damage and they kept insisting they were going to contact the Revdex.com so I asked them to leave and they would not comply so I assisted them to the door. I dispute their claim and there will be no reimbursement given.

The business states that burn looked like a cigarette burn. The affected area on the sleeve is 3 inches by 2 inches. This kind of damage is not the result of a cigarette burn. Also I did not mention I was going to file a BBC complaint until she was uncooperative and refusing to discuss the issue with me. The lady who I talked to was very rude and refused to help me in any way.

I still have the sweater and can take a photo of the burn and email you this information if it would help.
