I am extremely disappointed with my dealings with Baseline 4x4 Outfitters. I ordered parts for my Jeep TJ based on their Ebay ad. I received the proper front gears and incorrect rears. The receptionist made a point to tell me I ordered wrong. And that because I tried to install them there can be no refund. After a few more orders and finally getting the right parts I was out $298.81 that they refused to refund and explained I should be more informed when I ordered.

It is difficult enough to get blamed for ordering incorrectly when their ad made it clear the parts would work. But add in the loss of money I decided to make my first Revdex.com comment in my 54 years. And hopefully last.

I ordered a rear axle shaft from this company last week. I found the part online that I needed, but wasn't sure if it would fit my vehicle or not. The picture looked correct, but I wanted to be sure, so I called and asked. I spoke with [redacted]. She was really nice and took the information. I specifically said "I have a 2WD vehicle. Will this part fit"? She replied that it would fit my vehicle, and if I paid sales tax, they could expedite shipping for [redacted] Sounded great to me, so I pulled the trigger.

When the part arrived, I tore down my truck and removed the axle. Unfortunately, I hadn't looked at the shipped part yet, and much to my surprise when I opened the box, the axle shaft had 6 bolts and the shaft I was replacing had 5 bolts.

I called the number from the email they sent me and I spoke to a gentleman who first told me that I had contacted the wrong company, and then found a record of my purchase and transferred me to [redacted]. [redacted] wasn't as nice this time. She wasn't necessarily rude, but sharp. I explained the situation, and she then argued with me and said that I had never asked if the part would fit my truck. Now, I'm an IT guy, and if I can possibly order something online with a click of a button, I will do it, unless I'm unsure of what I'm ordering. Then I'll make the phone call and ask questions, which is what I did. I informed [redacted] that I wasn't happy and she said she'd call back.

[redacted] called back, and I missed the call, but when I returned her call, she was even sharper. She asked me what kind of a rear end I had in the truck. I said Toyota. She said, "no, is it a Dana, etc". I replied that I didn't know because it was a stock Toyota truck and I have no idea where they buy their rear ends from. She said she would send me an email with the return info, which she did.

I just shipped the part off TO WASHINGTON, which cost me $42. Now the part shipped from the town I live in, but I couldn't return it there. I had to ship it ACROSS THE COUNTRY. So, now I'm out over [redacted] for an axle that wouldn't work, which I was told would work.

Beware of this company.
