Complaint [redacted] As for the attic that is how [redacted] wanted it ventedHe did not want a hole cut for it to be vented outsideIt is to code how the vent is hooked upAgain the vanity is level as discussed in the previous letterAnd the floor is as level as it could beThey did not want to lift the house in order to make it completely levelThe pictures that were sent in for the toilet was not a completed picture as you can see that the floor is not groutedSo there would not be that big of a gap where the toilet is.If [redacted] would have contacted us we would have fixed any issues that he had But we never received a call from himWhen the job was completed we were told everything was great.Marc G***MA Home Improvements

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below

*** ***I contracted for a complete bathroom remodel by Marc G*** (M.AHome Improvements)Contract signed 1-23-with a price of $(not including the mirror, sink, commode or lighting)On 4-4-Marc, Mike and Jason started the job with a complete removal of the walls, tub, ceiling and floorOn 4-5-I was approached by Marc that the tile for the floor was going to cost extra and he was not going to argue with me about it (Marc was given the chosen tile on 2-6-16)4-thru 4-a new sub-floor was put down, new tub in, new ceiling and walls upThat included hours without a commode but things were looking goodOn day 7, 4-11-Mike asked Marc to stop talking about him behind his backMarc responded by telling him that if he didn't like it he could quit, so Mike left the jobThings started getting bad after thatWhen Marc was told that the switch under the mirror was not supposed to be there he became verbally aggressive and he would not move it, that switch also is not squaredAt that point Marc became unapproachable with concerns.Marc laid the tile, and as you can see in the photos it was done very poorlyThe grout lines are inconsistent and some tiles are higher that others causing the floor not the be levelAs you can see the vanity is not centered or levelThe commode does not sit flat on the floor and is still not levelTile cut at the floor vent with a 1/inch gapUnfinished wall outside the doorExhaust vent dangling in the atticOn 4-19-Marc was contacted that there was a concern with the floor installationHe said the job was signed off on and demanded the rest of his money which he receivedFinal cost $Prior to this remodel I had vinyl flooring and the floor and vanity were level and the commode sat flat on the floor The response by this business to the complaint shows their integrity and the photos show the quality of the work.Regards,*** ***

MA Home Improvements-This is in response to a complaint ID # ***,The budget for the tile was $($per square) which they were made aware of* and *** (sister) went to Prosource to pick out tile selectionAll prices are on the tile samples so they would have been aware of the increase
in price when he picked out the specific tileIt is also stated on the contract that any alteration or deviation from above specs including extra costs will become an extra charge over and above estimateThe total cost of the tile was $($per square) Trying to be nice I only charged a extra $Marc said he did not want to argue with *** because he over spent his budget and all customers have to pay for materialsIt is not as if he was charged extra for labor. After they did demolition to the bathroom Marc said that he would install the toilet at the end of the day*** told them they did not need to that he would be fineThey thought that was a little odd and again insisted they would put the toilet back at the end of the dayHis sister *** was there at the time of this discussion and she even gave a strange lookHe said he would just use a bucket if he had to.As far as the placement of the plug/outlet*** and Mike (worker) discussed where *** wanted it placed*** inspected the bathroom at the end of the work day and was pleased with the placementIt was never mentioned again until the completion of the job where Marc said that it could not be moved, Everything had been completed and it could not be moved at this pointIf he would have asked before the walls were up they could have moved itBut, again *** had picked the initial placementThe next day he said after he slept on it he actually like the placement of the plug/outlet.The plug is not crookedThe vanity is crooked because of the floor being in such bad shapeIt was discussed with *** and *** that they could raise the floor 1in without having to raise the entire house which would be an additional costThey decided to just go with the 1in raiseThey also would have had to have trim around the vanity if it was raised the 3-4inches and they did not like that ideaThey were definitely given the option. It is not that I became unapproachable it just became very challenging every dayWe would discuss things as we were working and *** would make decisions and then the next day he would want to change things aroundThat is not how it worksThat is why things are discussed prior to doing things because it is very hard to move things once they are doneWe had moved the medicine cabinet for him the last day that is why some touch up was needed that Saturday of being done Friday because the compound had to dry.As far as the tileIt was installed properlySome areas of the floor were uneven because of how bad the floor was rotted outAgain with was discussed with ***The vanity was placed in the same place as his old vanityThey new one he purchased was bigger than his old one so there was not much room to move it between the toilet and the tub.The gap with the floor vent was because *** wanted to wooden floor vent that he was going to purchase so Marc left enough space so that it would fit properly*** told Marc exactly where to place the mirrorOne day when Marc showed up *** had a plum line all set up and told Marc this is exactly where I want it.It is not the exhaust fan dangling in the attic it is the hose from the fan to blow the moisture out the vent*** did not want a hole cut in his roof so this Is what you can do insteadAgain, *** insisted on these things.Job was completed on April *** and *** did a finally walk thruThey both said everything was great and *** asked if it would be ok if they mailed the check because she had to get it from her motherMarc said that was fineAgain trying to work with themUsually we need payment before we leaveMarc had said that he would come back Saturday to do final touch up since they had moved the mirror and *** said no that he would take care of it because he was not going to be homeAs of April we still had not received a check so Marc called ***At that point she had said that they had some concernsMarc said when were you going to call? How was I to know you had concernsMarc stated at that point that he could not get over this week but would call *** to setup a time*** insisted that Marc not contact *** and that everything was fine and her husband would drop the check off(text message attached)Marc was willing to go back and fix any of the concerns but from the text message they said everything was good and not to contact ***He was never even contacted to go and fix the concerns instead they decided to put it on social media.I have done a lot of work for this family and was always fare and respectful, I wish they would have just discussed the concerns with me instead of getting to this point I have been in business for a long time and always want my customers happy

Complaint [redacted]As for the attic that is how [redacted] wanted it vented. He did not want a hole cut for it to be vented outside. It is to code how the vent is hooked up. Again the vanity is level as discussed in the previous letter. And the floor is as level as it could be. They did not want to lift the house in order to make it completely level. The pictures that were sent in for the toilet was not a completed picture as you can see that the floor is not grouted. So there would not be that big of a gap where the toilet is.If [redacted] would have contacted us we would have fixed any issues that he had.  But we never received a call from him. When the job was completed we were told everything was great.Marc G[redacted]. MA Home Improvements

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. This was a complete bath remodel. My bathroom was not crooked before, the commode was flat on the floor and the sink was level.Mike laid a complete new sub floor before he quit and Marc laid the tile, more pictures will show they are not lined up or spaced evenly.I was not changing my floor vent, I was going to by a new one in the same style and as the photo shows there is a gap from the floor to the vent.I have the tile sample and there is not a price on it.As the picture shows the sink is not level and the switch above the sink is not square. The fan is dangling in the attic.
