[redacted] purchased a [redacted] Model [redacted] from M&N Auto Sales (now [redacted] ***) on November 25, after negotiating an agreeable price for the 11-year-old vehicleThe vehicle was purchased by this company in September 25, 2017, inspected by a State Inspection Station, cleaned and conditioned, and placed for sale "AS-IS", conforming to industry standard for the sale of used vehicles which are sold without any expressed or implied warranty.During [redacted] 's negotiation for the purchase of the vehicle, he advised this company he planned to have the vehicle registered in MarylandCompany salespersons told him they would do what they could to help him pass the Maryland State inspection (somewhat more invasive than Virginia's)Specifically, [redacted] was told the company uses a facility in Fredericksburg that has very affordable prices for parts and labor[redacted] test drove the vehicle on three separate occasions on the day of purchase and expressed his satisfaction with the vehicle at the time of saleThe salespersons accompanying [redacted] on his test drives noted he drove with a spirited nature and enjoyed the operation of this high- performance vehicle[redacted] 's statement indicates he took the vehicle to a Maryland vehicle inspection station on December 20, and it failed for several reasons; wiper blades, a wheel lug nut, parking headlight, and front rotor discsOnly after [redacted] had the vehicle serviced did he notify this company by presenting a bill totaling $1,for repair of the items listed aboveHis text message to our salesperson on December 29, indicates he needs the work done and his text message dated January state $as the cost of the repairs.On either January or January 18, 2018, seven weeks after the "AS-IS" sale, [redacted] informed this company the radio in the vehicle stopped workingThe company worked with [redacted] to help him correct this unfortunate issue and arranged for him to bring the vehicle to the repair facility in? Fredericksburg the company usesThe technician there was not able to affect the necessary repairs and told [redacted] he should take the vehicle to a [redacted] dealer so they could determine the exact cause of the problemThe [redacted] dealer looked at the vehicle and recommended the usual [redacted] standard solution ?" replace the radio at a cost of $3,400.00.While we certainly understand [redacted] 's frustration concerning the radio, it was operational when he purchased the vehicleThere are also several companies in the Fairfax/Arlington/Alexandria area that could for considerably less, repair or replace the radio [redacted] appears however to prefer the installation of OEM components, an attempt perhaps to return the vehicle to the same material condition it was on the day offered for sale by the manufacture.Our company is aware that any large dollar purchase brings an increase in personal stressThere is a natural tendency for people to remember things to their advantage, and not "hear" some things which are stated...or even not remember signing important documentsWe accept that such things can and do happen.Our sale of this vehicle was in good faithIt is unfortunate [redacted] now wants this company to provide him a vehicle he 'wants', not the vehicle he purchased
