the issue is not whether or not we are willing to help the customer the problem is that she could not provide documentation of maintenance on her vehicle and that is why the service contract would not cover the repair when she first came in there was no oil on the dipstick and our company for free
performed a lube oil and filter and advised her to keep an eye on her engine oil level but unfortunately the damage had already been done she had the vehicle towed back in on another visit and that was when it was determined that it needs a motor unfortunately we cannot replace motors for free or we would be out of business.it is making us look like the bad guys when in fact we tried to help her out but unfortunately the damage had already been done

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:
I agree that there may be a lot of factors going against us in terms of being able to make a car deal in such a short amount of time due to my husband needing to return in California; however, reading the response from you (MD Auto) is first time we are receiving a response in regards to a potential car dealMy husband was told he would be informed whether it would be possible or not, and he had not received any phone call to determine what the status was, even if it was a denial due to circumstances beyond your controlAll we wanted was to know if we could get out of the vehicle, make a deal before he left, and if not, give him a courtesy phone call to inform himBy not keeping us informed/updated led us to believe we were being lied to, deceived, and ignoredThis issue will be resolved when someone, preferably the person my husband spoke to about making a potential car deal which was the GM, calls my husband and personally closes the matterIt's a matter of personal integrity and accountability at this pointBeing in the military, these are huge values to us, so we would appreciate the courtesy. Sincerely,*** ***

in response to the above claim the facts are that they purchased a vehicle that 3 weeks later had some transmission gear noise which we diagnosed right away the customer was informed of our findings and that the issue would be covered under there service contract that they had purchased at the time...

of sale.MD AUTOSALES gave them a vehicle to drive from our inventory at no charge to them even though we were not obligated to.The vehicle needed another transmission which we ordered installed only to find out that it made more noise then the previous which the customer was informed. We ordered another transmission installed test drove fine and returned the vehicle to the customer at n/c. Different problem arose set appointment up to have customer come back in found failed viscous coupler informed customer that it would be repaired at n/c to them but customer informed us that he had to be in California in a few days and that he could not leave the car I gave him my card and all of the service contract information and told him to have the dealership down in California call me.The sales department tried to get him out of the car as a courtesy but once again a combination of the fact that he had to be in California and one of the co-buyers were out of state it tied our hands and what we could ultimately do. This was not our choice but there,s due to the time crunch that they were under.

I recently purchased a 2001 Chevy Tahoe from MD Auto Sales in Tacoma on Monday April 28, 2014. Within 20 minutes from driving it off the lot it started acting up. The ABS and Emergency light kept popping up as the car was in motion. I would stop the car, turn it off, then restart the car and the problem would repeat. I took video and immediately called them to let them know of the problem. Within 24 hours after I notified them of the first problem more issues arose. The Tahoe would start but none of the gauges were working, including the speedometer, and none of the gears would appear as being in use. When I attempted to drive the Tahoe it would become stuck somewhere between 2nd and 3rd (based off of the feeling of the automatic shifts) then it would not accelerate anymore. At this point it was in my hands for 48 hours. I called the dealership asking if I could return the Tahoe to them and they refused to take it back saying that the cars are sold as-is even though they claim that my Tahoe had undergone 2 inspections due to being a previous repo.

I drove the Tahoe straight to the dealership. I took my mother and father with me to demand my money back because I was sold a car that was obviously not inspected and had serious issues that were not disclosed to me. While I was in their office they became loud and intimidating. At one point they became so loud that my father said in a cool tone that they needed to stop being so aggressive and address what we were speaking about or we were going to call the police. There were 3 men in the office and 2 of them shoved my father out of the office and blocked the door not allowing my mother and I to leave. At this point my mother told the men that she was going to record the conversation. The main guy agreed that he would bring the car in to have it inspected and they would fix the issue in their shop. I left the Tahoe so they could fix it. They took it that Wednesday and kept it until Friday. They provided me with a loaner car for that time being. I picked it up Friday and drove it off the lot and the same issue happened.

At this point I reached out to a third party to check the diagnostics. My boyfriend who also was on the loan watched as they pulled up the codes. These codes came up faulty:
PCM/Power Control Module (was the part [redacted] the control tech "said" they replaced) came up faulty after they said they had completed the work.
EBCM- Engine Breaking Control Module is what controls the ABS also came up faulty.
Air Ride Suspension came up faulty
They never informed me of this before I purchased the car nor did they disclose these codes when they "fixed" the piece they said they fixed. They will not supply me with any documentation for any of this.

They have had possession of the Tahoe 3 out of the 7 days it has been in my possession and it has only run for less then 2 days. I paid $2,000 down and financed $8,036.25. I called the loan company on Monday May 5th to let them know that my car wasn't running and ask what they recommend I do. I ended up going down to speak to them in person because they informed me that they did not have any loan information for my car besides an inquiry. They said that they did receive a request for a loan but nothing was ever processed. So I have had this car for a week and the loan company is not holding Title even thought MD Auto Sales told me they were. I find this odd because I did provide everything they asked for. I signed papers for this loan at MD Auto Sales but [redacted] says it was not processed or funded!

I called the dealership demanding answers and I was told that I was to give over my keys or they would report my Tahoe stolen. I spoke to [redacted] and was told that I needed to speak to [redacted] at the S. Tacoma Way shop. I was then told over the phone by [redacted] to take the truck and drop it off in order to receive my deposit of $2,000 back. I think they responded like this because they knew that they never sent my loan paperwork through. I did not want to leave my keys with them because I was not sure who was holding title to the Tahoe, if it was a loan company or them. If it was in fact my car I didn't want them tampering with it when I wasn't present. I offered to bring in the Tahoe and wait while they did the inspections they needed to do. They told me that I would be waiting over night. I didn't appreciate the games they were now playing with me. I told [redacted] over the phone that I was willing to come in 8 am the next day and wait for the car to be inspected. He said that they wouldn't allow me to wait.

They said if I left my keys they would refund my deposit less a daily charge of $25 for each day the Tahoe was in my possession and for any damages that I caused plus $0.25 for every mile I had driven it. Also, the Odometer has been broken since I had the car in my possession so I don't understand how they will come up with a dollar figure for the amount driven. I have not been able to drive the Tahoe since it has been in my possession and I fear that they said I was approved for a loan but never actually processed my paperwork. By stating that they would report the car stole is admitting that my paperwork was never processed! Additionally, I have requested multiple times that they supply me with the service documents on the car and they are refusing. I have no documentation that the car was ever inspected even thought they guaranteed it and I have no proof that they did the work on the car that they said they did because they will not give me the proof I am asking for.

Additionally, I did go to the lot on May 5th at 6:40 (before they closed at 7:00 PM) like [redacted] told me to do and when I arrived none of the people I had been in contact with were there. I was approached by 2 young men and I explained that I was there to return the truck and receive my deposit. They refused to speak with me and denied any knowledge of what was going on even though I had been specifically told to come to this location for drop off. I told them I would wait for [redacted], or [redacted] so I could return the keys personally. They informed me that if I didn't leave they would call the police. I chose not to leave because this was yet again another part of their game. The police showed up and stated that I was not breaking the law. I agreed to leave the truck but left without the deposit that was promised to me. [redacted] arrived a few minutes after the police arrived and stated in front of the officer that he would take the keys, inspect the Tahoe on May 6th and give me a call by the end of business day on May 6th. He never called. This is a game for them. They have been yanking me around for a week.

Lastly, the WA state Lemon Law found in RCW 62A.2-314 gives protection to car buyers that all known issues with the car are made known to the buyer. As I was reading through my paperwork trying to prep my complaint I noticed that they intentionally marked my car as use for business on my contract when I told them and they knew that it was for personal use. I didn't realize the box was checked until after I had signed the contract. The gravity of the importance of that check box was not made apparent until I researched RCW 62A.2-314. I feel that this was intentional on their part as a way to sell me a car that they KNEW was broken.

I have done some additional research on this company and many people have complained about buying cars that broke down within 48 hours. I strongly advise anyone thinking about doing business with this company to strongly reconsider because there is something VERY fishy going on. I am a mother of 3 small children and I used my last bit of money as a down payment on this car. I am now left without a car and I have no idea when to anticipate my $2,000 deposit to be refunded to me. They have been playing games with me for the last week, I've been bounced around between people, everyone tells me a different story, and after MANY attempts to contact the owner I have yet to get a hold of him to resolve this.
