M H Home Modeling ( Hameed & Vicki Heleeji) Reviews (1)

We should start off with some of the very important issues here.  I was tasked with resizing the master bedroom closet.  Upon opening the walls, we found ductwork for the [redacted] AC unit that was not anticipated. which was then subsequently moved to another location, aspects of the...

project done by another contractor along with extra holes that HE miscalculated and then I, be default, became responsible for patching.  When [redacted] cites a four-day project, it should be recognized that it could have been four days if it had not been for these issues.  Next, after moving the wall, we found out that the wall that the closet was built against was two inches deeper than the main wall of the bedroom which meant that the wall needed to be brought out.  Considering too, that there was a window whose frame was now two inches too narrow, all had to be rebuilt.  These three items alone added three additional days.  [redacted] initially said that when wanted to retain the balance of the closet so I rebuilt the original hanging bars and patched up the walls only to have her tell me then that she had decided to have custom closet components installed and that she would like me to smooth out the walls.  Both [redacted] and her husband noted how well the window turned out and matched the other window in the room. To be clear about the floor repairs, I specifically told her I could repair the holes from the previous location of the [redacted] duct work and did so in a very satisfactory manner, a manner in which both she and her husband commented on how well the repairs looked.  In taking down the walls, we noted that the floors had previously been sanded which meant the floors under the previous walls were raised about 1/4 inch and needed to be sanded.  Again, I specifically told her that I would attempt to make this repair for her and TOLD HER IF I COULD NOT SHE WOULD NOT BE CHARGED.  I did what I could before she ordered me off the project and she was not charged. The rear storm door is another matter.  In replacing the previous door, I noted it's state of disrepair, obviously from excessive use and improper opening and closing.  The door jamb itself had broken wood as a result of this misuse.  There was NEVER any discussion about replacing a damaged jamb so I suggested filling the broken parts with a bit of wood filler and relocating the door closer.  We are talking about over 20 screws solidly in place around the entire door frame.  It took two days to complete the project because after I had first installed the door, my partner Sean reseated the striker plate to allow for smoother closure.  The door was in perfect working order when we left it and it was accepted by both she and her husband.  Noting the condition of the previous door, I submit that any current damage is as a result of misuse and abuse as noted in the door previously removed. I will admit to mismeasuring and installing the ceiling fan in the incorrect location because as soon as this was noted, the fan was relocated and the hole patched. The fan worked without issue as demonstrated numerous times prior to my departure. We have a written transcript of all text and email traffic including the original quote that corroborates my side of this discussion that I would be pleased to share.  As this project moved along, many more issues were introduced that impacted the closure and I understand that she became frustrated with the timing.  For the normal client, the patching and repairs done on a property in excess of 100 years in age would have been acceptable but [redacted] has a very critical eye that I can appreciate and respect.  The issue here again is what was acceptable back in March becomes unacceptable six to six months later.  This young lady was afforded significant considerations in both material and labor which if done by any other contractor would have been at least double or triple the cost.  I warranty the labor portion of my projects with the guarantee that I will make good on workmanship issues.  I obviously cannot guarantee failure in products such as the storm door, considering the fact that this door was their main point of entry and exit, I am sure it takes a lot of abuse and if the product is failing, it is through no fault of mine.
