Review: Screen door on balcony has had a hole in it since we moved in (four months ago) and is currently taped shut to keep bugs from getting in. We have a two bedroom and are only able to use one bedroom because the other one smells highly of urine and even after being cleaned it smells worse, Mj Kelly hasn't returned phone call about replacing the carpet. Screen was taken out of bedroom window by carpet cleaner and he couldn't get it back in, I called the apartment manager and he said he would do it. The day he said he would do it he walked right past me and didn't say a word and it still isn't done so we cant open the window to get the smell out. Tenant across from our apartment is actively smoking marijuana in the building, and the smell travels either through vents or across hallway into our apartment and we have had to leave numerous times due to the smell making us sick, Michael has stated he was coming to the facility but he has yet to do so, they also said they were sending out letters but haven't done that either.Desired Settlement: I want our screen door fixed, the carpet replaced, and the screen put back in our window. I also want the marijuana issue addressed because it is making my family sick and we shouldn't have to pay to live somewhere whenw e cant even stay in the apartment due to the smell.

A phone call was received from tenant. I took information and created a service ticket to resolve issues. 6/21/16 @ 12:26Email received from tenant.6/23/16 1:03Addressed issues with tenant. At this point there is nobody else issuing complaints pertaining to a marijuana odor. I sent the onsite manager to verify the smell/odor. No marijuana smell was found. The tenant was told if she could pin point the smell to contact the authorities and log a complaint.M.J. Kelly had her carpet cleaned twice and we are contacting the cleaning company again to have yet another cleaning performed. We advised her to contact us if the cleaning company hadn't contacted her within a week.6/23/16 @1:23Another email from tenant was received stating that she was only able to use one of the two bedrooms even though the carpets had been cleaned twice. At this point the property manager had stopped by several times to address the issue but no one was home and no one returned his call or MJ Kelly Realty calls.6/28/16Correspondence received from property manager stating that messages were left with no response. M.J. Kelly representative visited the property and was unable to smell any odor of marijuana smell. The property manager was unable to detect any trace of odor either.6/29/16 4:03Tenant contact M.J. Kelly stating she wasn’t an investigator and refused to contact the authorities. She was working long shift trying to plan her wedding. The carpet cleaning company continuing to schedule a time for cleaning the carpet and she refused them access.The property manager attempted to stop again without success as there is no one at home.Voice message-6/25/16Tenant left message stating that none of the issues had been addressed.Attempts to resolve issues were made but tenant hasn't been at home, nor arranged to provide access for the cleaning company.Voice message 7/6/16Tenant left message with MJ. Kelly. She was upset because here rent check had been cashed. This was a rent payment that was due and the check was processed.Another message was received stating that the check was postdated which shouldn't have been sent. Tenant instructed the financial institution to reverse payment.Voice mail 7/6/16Tenant left another message stating that M J. Kelly was only interested in money. {Rent was due). 7/12/16 @ 1:33 A.M.Another email was received stating no one had arrived to repair the window or the screen door. However tenant refused property manager access to make necessary repairs. The marijuana smell continues to persist. Tenant stated that she would be calling the authorities to report the issue concerning the marijuana. (This is what M.J. Kelly had instructed in the beginning).7/11 & 7/12The property manager had left message several times for tenant with no response from the tenant. 7/13/16 @ 10:08Tenant left message stating that only one note was left for her by the property manager concerning the carpet cleaning. Tenant stated she was contacting the Revdex.com and Housing Authority.7/14/16Property manager stated that he was able to use a ladder to access patio door to make the repairs to the screen door and window. Due to scheduling issues with tenant, the carpet company was finally able to get the measurements for a new carpet, this after numerous scheduled appointments.7/14/16M.J. Kelly informed the carpet has been replaced, the carpet installer indicated no smell what so ever in carpet removed and carpet was in excellent condition. Window has been repaired, as well as screen door repaired.Property manager states there were numerous cleaning people and M.J. Kelly representative whom didn't detect any smell of marijuana. As we know, unless caught in the act it is difficult to impossible to prosecute.The carpet that was removed had no level of odor or stains on the carpet.Tenant has made numerous false claims regarding carpet and odors and has not agreed to pay for any erroneous expenses endured by owner.

I lived at [redacted]. I officially moved out July 30, 2016. There is currently an issue with bed bugs and all of the tenants were not informed by M.J. Kelly realty. I know this because I was a tenant and found out through a casual conversation with one of the other tenants who found them in his place. I was moving out at the time but while unpacking I found a bed bug in one of my bags......just one of many issues I had with this company. There was a fire in the building and none of the alarms worked (the tenants went banging on each other's doors to try to get everyone out after they attempted to pull the alarms in the hallways). The owner Mike K[redacted] described it as a "small fire" but the power was out for several hours and the fire department was called. In my opinion most big fires start out as small fires (thank goodness for the fire department). I called the realty office to complain about this and one of the people working there told me that the alarms didn't work because the power went out....to me this is not a valid excuse. There are lots of pets living in the building (I know of at least 3 people who have called in to complain). If you have allergies please beware. Mike pretends to be surprised when someone complains about it. I moved out early because I couldn't take it anymore and asked them to rent out the place as soon as possible (they said they would) but I they did not even attempt to rent it early. Also if you complain about anything or post a bad review while still under the lease Mike threatens to evict you. He was very condasending and rude in almost every conversation I had with him. He lies a lot, so I suggest recording your conversations with him or handling everything over email so you can have a record of every thing. I regret not listening to the reviews I read online before I move into that property and that I stayed as long as I did.

Review: Water Heater in the Tenants Apartment above broke and the water pour in my closet caused all my clothes and other items to get wet as well as the carpet and I called 4 times 3 days ago to have them come and clean up all this mess and they haven't sent anyone as of today to fix the mess all that water caused and my Apartment smell moldy and musty.Desired Settlement: Have them come and clean up this mess and to be reimburse for the cost I spent to clean and dry my clothes and days pay from work, and cleaning supplies I bought already to clean up the mess made by the water.
